If you fancy some 'light relief' away from Pottsgate then I recommend this wee film on youtube of Mick McCarthy being interviewed by Eamon Dunphy.
Thanks for sharing this, it was really entertaining and enlightening. I like the description of Jack Charlton's Gegen Press.
Watched first few minutes and it looks great, but I need sleep. Thanks for posting, I'll watch the rest tomorrow.
Yeah okay, never gonna criticise big Mick. He has ploughed his own furrow, never wasted a chance to big us up. Would have loved him to have given it two years managing the reds, never gonna happen
Big Mick keeps going up in my estimation, what a terrific bloke. It is such a pity that he has distanced himself from his home town club. That said, I feel he'd never let others have final say over transfers without prior approval and/or subsequent replacements
Great watch. Was told by a family member that Mick grew up on Pantry Well down Worsbrough Dale which I always doubted. Looks like Blackburn Lane up Worsbrough Bridge though. Cleared that up I suppose.
That took me back.I was one of the kids that called for Micks dad.He was a good player who could keep the ball for fun until Mick decided to get it back.Quite funny watching a kid clatter his own dad.Charlie would commentate during our games and would always be Hidekguti who was the Hungarian who scored a hat trick against England a Wembley.Great watch.
His job as Ireland manager would have been a lot easier were it not for Eamon Dunphy and Roy Keen. Great video, thanks.
Good watch that. Just finished reading his book on the world cup and Roy Keane affair. (Thanks Bill/Bri) well worth a read.
