It’s just a generic term for streaming tv really. Stands for Internet Protocol TV. Comes in all shapes and sizes...from the perfectly legitimate Netflix/Amazon Prime etc...to the maybe not so legitimate (i.e. not at all) satellite channel streaming.
Yeah I know pal, just wondered which actual service it is people are paying for? They all look a bit sketchy to me when I Google.
ah right. yeah there's different OTT/IPTV providers out there, but it's deliberately sketchy finding them, for obvious reasons. to answer your question though...you're basically paying someone who hosts all the channels at their end, who then 'shares' them with you. You would typically expect to get all UK satellite channels, plus many US & World channels, red button, movies & TV boxsets etc etc.
Yeah one of my mates swears by it, others have said it's fine for a few month then suddenly stops working, suppose it's the nature of grey area they operate in. I've always preferred just paying for stuff to get the reliability but it's frustrating when you can't even do that in the UK due to rights issues.
