He said it in his post match interview.

You're missing my point. Why is it news when a manager says they didn't want a player to leave?

Otherwise he's in effect saying Ports was **** and they couldn't wait for him to go!

He doesn't have to say anything. Managers don't invite clubs to come and buy their most valuable assets. End of. Why would they willingly weaken their team and risk a dip in form and the criticism it brings?

I agree. I'm disappointed about losing Potts, but I'm assigning the "blame" as follows:
    33% Potts
    34% Potts' agent
    33% Preston FC

People are naive if they think that quoting Stendel isn't a direct dig at Ganaye from a certain poster.

You've lost me there, but maybe if I'd read what Stendel said it would make sense. :)

It's not a blame game. It is just difficult to see how you can hold a manager responsible at the end of the season if he has had little say in who he has to work with. I appreciate that is the European model and that is probably was a part in recruiting DS.

Luton Peterborough pompey all strengthened today with experience. Wake up Barnsley and change the policy. Surely if lee tomlin got ten goals for us and helped us to promotion but had no resale value it would be worth it.

Or Tomlin signed for us got paid nearly double more than anyone else and the rest of the squad get unsettled and want to leave to the first club that comes knocking. The club say no and the harmony disapears and we drop out of the playoffs

I don't think people at the club are oblivious to what we need or what others are doing.

Totally agree. Over the years so people many have suggested various different 'marquee' (read: expensive) signings. Simple fact is they are exorbitant gambles. Additionally to the points you've made above, whose to say Tomlin doesn't do his ACL or pull his hamstring in the first 10 minutes of his first appearance? He's 30 years old in under a week, so he has no sell-on value either.

It'd be a massive loss for the club, and I'd hate to see Barnsley gamble like that. Yes we could do with one or two experienced players this window, but not ones who will command wages like that, regardless of what they may offer to the team.

Rubbish. All decisions made by the club during transfer windows are made with the sole intention of annoying and alienating as many fans as possible. There's no recruitment team or scouting network, instead the club rely on information posted on here when targeting new players. Furthermore, the club intentionally delay signings until late in the window, as this causes a satisfyingly high level of annoyance amongst the fans.
