I was so impressed by the equivalent thread for 2017, that (with Conan's blessing) I've picked up the baton this time around. Which album(s) grabbed you last year? I'll kick off with "Lost In The Ghost Light" by Tim Bowness.
My favourite:- Horrendous- Idol Other favourites in no particular order:- Omnium Gatherum - The Burning Cold Kalmah - Palo Obscura - Diluvium
Idles - joy as an act of resistance. 6 music been all over it this year, was thinking it couldn’t be as good as I’d hope but it smashed it In a very close second place Vennart - to cure a blizzard upon a plastic sea And third The blinders - Columbia
singularity by John Hopkins a great album. Michael Head 2017 but I only heard last year Senior Pussycat Weller True Meanings.
Arctic Monkeys ~ Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino The Wombats ~ Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life Death Cab For Cutie ~ Thank You For Today
I would go for 'double negative' by low and 'an angel fell' by Idris Ackamoor. My favourite thing however was the previously unreleased lost album by john coltrane which is brilliant. Plenty more from last year too. I thought it was a strong year for new music
A bit of Saxon is always welcome. From time to time I see a Biff lookalike tanking up at the petrol station near Barnsley hospital. Never quite sure if he's the genuine article..
Not sure about Biff think he moved to Whitby after his french Chateaux burned down, Paul Quinn still lives in the area so I’m told . Still one of the best live bands around
My favourite album was Melody's Echo Chamber: Bon Voyage Beak: Couple of dance tracks I loved: The Juan MacClean: Erol Alkan:
Springsteen on Broadway The Promised Land (Springsteen on Broadway) Also the Buddy Holly or Roy Orbison and the Philharmonic Orchestra Maybe Baby In Dreams
