Now obviously it's wrong for anyone to be stabbed or murdered but I get really annoyed with the way the media paint some people as darling little angels who were inocently going about their business. Illegally riding a moped on the public highway without any form of insurance, no licence and years below the minimum age. But that's ok because the photo the released shows such an angelic little boy right? Well that would be nice but for balance let's post the photo of him posing with a knife alongside it. In fact let's let's use a recent photo not an almost two year old photo. For once why not publish a story that says "complete ******** putting people's lives at risk is murdered. Don't follow his lead kids or you could end up dead too" instead of trying to scare the public into thinking their kids are going to be stabbed walking to the school bus.
There's more to this story. Moped. Knife crime. Three men. BMW. Hmmmmmmm. Description of the murderers required to complete the picture.
Yes he was. A child who indulged in illegal and dangerous behaviour which seemingly has led to his death. A message that I think is important to get out to other people his age rather than glossing over it and putting the fear of death up everyone that there are child killers wandering the street.
Can you post a link to whatever you’ve read? It’s not the media’s job to send messages, it’s their job to report what happened. It’s certainly not their job to called murdered 14 year olds “complete dickheads.”
It’s difficult not to conclude he was part of the drugs scene. No one randomly gets pulled from a moped. However he is a child, so the real evil here is whoever groomed him into a drugs gang. And those folk who take coke on a Saturday night like it’s got no consequences need to have a think about what they do.
Police now saying it was a targeted killing. Saying that teenagers in the area were being used as drug " mules". Sounds very much as this incident is somehow linked. Just been on the news, they have found the car involved in the incident.
One thing I will say - I'm well into my adult years now and 90% of those who were dicks in school are dicks in adulthood. But not all, and I think it's unfair to judge a kid we don't know. There are always things behind the scenes; too many variables for it to be right to write him off as scum when it could well be he was heavily pressured or forced into something and it's taken his life.
I wish the media and police would stop calling them mopeds. Legally a moped is under 50cc and should have pedals and not be capable of more than 28 mph. It is short for motorised pedal bike. They are talking about scooters or small motor cycles
It did puzzle me when his youth worker started talking about what a good lad he was and how unlike him it was to get into trouble. I mean there has to be a reason why he had a youth worker.
Always a depressing eye opener to see how certain people on this forum see the world. 14 year old stab victim hounded for having the temerity to ride a moped. Really nasty c*nts in this thread. Even if you think there’s ‘more’ to the story, keep it to yourself.
Drug dealers use kids to transport and sell their drugs as they believe that children are less likely to be stopped by Police. The children are usually from poor backgrounds and bad environments, so usually take the money gladly. The peer pressure of wanting to be "in a gang" and feeling "protected" is also a big draw. This will either be a case of rival gangs killing another gangs' runner, or the kid was found to have been "skimming" (Taking money for himself over and above the amount he was paid to sell/transport the drugs.) The kids that do this then get a "taste of the life", want more of it, want the bigger reputation so start carrying weapons at a younger and younger age (hence the skyrocketing of knife crime in inner cities.) The kids see no way out of the life they have other than to join a gang and make money through illegal activites.
When stories like this break the whole picture is never known. It's like the first square revealed on catchphrase, rarely is the whole picture guessed from first bit of info. And, like Catchphrase, some of the initial conclusions are well wide of the mark.
