Doesn't sound promising would be a real kick in the teeth if more did go and the play off push dwindled. I'd imagine it wouldn't be the only thing that dwindled if that happens mind.

Handled the questions very well. Of course he can't guarantee any more leaving as everyone has a price but i'm pleased he said everyone at the club wants the strongest possible squad.

Like how he was shocked how much Potts went for too... that suggests it was a decent deal for us which is good.

He can't really guarantee anyone won't leave. If someone bids 10 million for Isgrove hes going to go isn't he? If someone bid 10p I think we'd take it to be honest, given fitness issues (not his fault of course). He cannot predict what will happen and would be daft to stick his neck on the line.

I think this transfer window will give us the clearest indication we've yet had of where our club stands under its new ownership. We all want to jump the gun but I'm going to try my best to wait and see (easier said than done).

He also said him and DS were consulted and part of the decision to sell Potts.

Very honest answer, sounds about what I expected. The problem is our model may leave is weaker after the window than before.

But that's not the intention is it.Winkler said everybody was working to give them the best chance of getting promotion. That says to me if a player goes we replace them with someone better.

Agreed but with the nature of our signings being young it's unrealistic to expect them to come and be up to speed straight away. Yes Woodrow has been excellent but I'd be surprised if that's the norm. Unless we are aiming at a higher level with who we bring in. Time will tell us the answer.

To be fair, thinking about signings this summer, both Woodrow and Dougall have both made seamless transitions. And Bahre to some extent. We have added others for the future (Williams, Styles), but it seems that this ownership have recognised that it's no good bringing in replacements who aren't ready to be plugged straight into the first team. Something we didn't seem to fully realise in previous windows. Hoping that's the case anyway, time will tell.

Another excellent honest interview from one of our management team. Very interesting comment in the last part of the interview on ifollow, when discussing Potts, he commented that Potts didn't really suit the style of the team they want to play. he tried to adapt but he was neither really a winger or a holding midfielder.

Most concur that he never really suited though he tried and did ok with us, especially this season. To get a deal over £1.5m and allow us to recruit someone who may suit the style better to the managements liking, I think that's a decent bit of business.

Imho....it doesn't matter if potts went for £50 million unless we replace with another player....I agree with darfield...this will give us the clearest indication yet of where their ambition lies.
I will accept the decision but I will not be happy...... with selling one of our more important players....and not replacing him.

If they knew what they wanted and what they were doing somebody would have already been in the building.

To be honest it's not the selling of Potts specifically that got people's goat - We seem to be blessed with a number of central/right footed midfielders. Rather it was the manner of the sale - first bid received/third day of transfer window.

    See how things develop.

I can't see where his replacement will come from. He was a centre midfielder playing out of position on the right wing and we don't play with wingers?

I dont think it was the first bid recieved and it sounds like it was good money...... Now use the money to get a better replacement in, thats how it should work otherwise whats the point in selling
