If you are struggling to get anywhere with a Pain Consultant (usually an Anaesthetist) in terms of a written report, try also Spinal Surgeons or Orthopaedic Surgeons.

As well as the two private hospitals in Sheffield, Thornbury and Claremont, look at Spire Leeds, Spire Methley Park and Nuffield Leeds. There is a lot of choice and the specialists have both NHS and private practice. Does your GP recommend anyone?

Another route is to contact a Consultant secretary at one of the local NHS hospitals - politics aside, many do offer private treatment and consultations at an NHS facility for "self-funding" patients.
