Never fails to get me blubbering, but tonight's episode really tugged at the heart strings. The numerous volunteers modernised the home of a Cambridge United fan Simon Dobbin who was attacked whilst attending an away game at Southend United in 2015. He's been left permanently brain damaged and unable to talk and walk. His loyal wife and daughter featured in the episode and were inspirational. It was disappointing that Steve was unable to see the work done on his behalf as he was in hospital with pneumonia. Don't know if the pond life that assaulted him has been brought to justice but hope they have. So very sad for what looked like a family devoted to their injured Dad and Husband. https://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/news/cambridge-news/simon-dobbin-diy-sos-bbc-15695358
Apart from the last bit re- Mr Dobbin getting upset, that's a right result. Could be argued they deserved longer sentences. ? Hope Southend United ban them sine die.
Horrifying to think you walk out the door saying bye to your other half and kids and never return again (the person you were) never ceases to amaze me the cr#p you see for "your team".
There were apparently 25 assailants involved in attacking Cambridge United fans. Twelve who were involved in the incident with Simon apparently recieved prison sentences. All but two of them have now been released. Absolute pond life the lot of them.
“Violent disorder” - should have been charged with attempted murder. And there is at least one idiot on here who condones this sort of thing. Having a bit of a ruck etc. Cretinous behaviour and attitude.
One hopes that they have a conscience and their actions will weigh heavily upon them. Utterly sickening.
