I live in London and most of my mates, around 95pct of them are Tory, - they see Jeremy Corbyn as a joke - much in the same way I suspect as people in Barnsley see Theresa May - last night on Question Time, Diane Abbot stated that the polls showed that Labour were neck and neck with the Tories when in fact they were behind - not the first time she has screwed up with numbers though so acceptable as the norm now - when will people who vote Labour wake up and realise that they will never win an election with a Corbyn/Abbot dream team - my mates are grateful that Corbyn IS in charge as they know that any credible leader would have taken Labour to power a long time ago - May, like the Tory Government are on their arse at the moment and STILL leading in the polls - Labour made a catastrophic error in electing Corbyn, as they did when they elected the wrong Milliband - they need to grow a pair now and get rid of JC - what do you guys think?

So you're Tory mates think Corbyn is a joke, I wonder if it's anything to do with him taking some of their wealth away if he gets in power...

I don't think anyone who voted for Theresa May can call any other MP a joke, she's the worst PM I can remember! She has completely embarrassed our nation and continues to do so. The spotlight need not be on JC, he isn't the one who is ruining our country for their own political and financial gain. She couldn't even win a general election that she called herself. I'm assuming all your mates like having the NHS? Don't get used to it because under a Tory government the NHS is becoming more privatised by the year.

I always wonder why such people (who don't have big earnings) vote Tory then. I know things aren't that black and white in politics, and I'm certainly no expert in UK politics, but it just makes no sense!

If Corbyn is such a liability, the Tories should be busting a gut to re-establish a
large majority by having a General Election. They won't because such is their
popularity at the moment ( one poll had Labour 2 points ahead by the way) they
are scared that they could lose. The Tories are happy to let the hapless nay hopeless
May remain until such times as a different exit deal is agreed at Westminster. Once that
is achieved, the " men in grey suits" will see to it that she is removed from office and the scramble
to replace her will begin. The Country is in a terrible mess and the process of healing the ills caused
by this Government can only start to be addressed when this spineless bunch are removed from office.
One point I unfortunately do agree on, is that Diane Abbot is a liability. The saying " every dog has its day"
is relevant in her case and politically it appears that her best days are behind her. Finally there was a statement
made on QT last night to the effect that Corbyn was praying his vote of confidence would be defeated.
Couldn't agree more, who in their right mind, would want to step in and attempt to sort out the mess that
May and her bunch of useless cohorts have brought upon us.?

Corbyn will always get a bad press, because the press is predominantly Tory. Nevertheless the press shape the public view and that could make him unelectable, so your Tory friends are right to rejoice. I’m baffled by their choice though, if they are working class as you say, it’s difficult to see what the Tories have done for them.
I watched question time last night and I was frustrated by the balance of the panel and the audience. It seems that they always have to have an obligatory extreme right winger and the more eloquent the better and we have poor old Dianne Abbot the poorest representative of the lLabour Party it’s possible to have. Add to that an audience of loud brexiters and feed it to the electorate.
We have never needed leadership more than we do at this moment and we are offered a bunch of small minded self serving clowns.
I’m not in a rush to placate your mates, but they’re not wrong in seeing Corbyn as other than the leader we need.
We need Atlee and Bevan. Having watched the umpteenth movie about Churchill and having avoided one about Thatcher, where is the movie about Atlee’s achievements?

People has been screaming for .....

    - an honest politician
    - someone who doesn't claim incorrectly on expenses
    - someone who doesn't behave like a child at PMQs (someone who can debate without jeering / cheering etc)
    plus many more things.

They've got that person in Mr Corbyn, and people aren't happy because he's not "fashionable", "good looking" or charismatic.

Are the latter really more important than the former? If so, why not just make Gemma Atkinson or Alison King PM

GE just prolongs the agony that is Brexit - no point in doing that, - Corbyn will never win imo - he is too socialist - Labour need to win middle England to win a GE and they wont with a socialist leader

Results of two polls done on the 13 th January, show Labour marginally ahead in one and level
in another. If there was a GE which there won't be, they ( Labour) could form a Coalition with
the other parties and the Torys won't risk that. So for the time being, we are stuck
with a hopeless PM and a disfunctional Tory party who are at each other's throats.
    They are a disgrace.!

Why do people make claims that are wrong and easily verifiable. You're wrong and she's quite right, they are neck and neck. In some they're in front, others they're level and a couple they are just behind.

    13th January

For the record Survation had Labour to make gains in the last election when everyone else had them losing by some margin. They have Labour 3 points in front.

The only person stopping the Labour leader taking up residence at No 10 is Corbyn

Most southerners I know are maxed out on their credit cards etc that they can't afford to vote labour...sounds daft.... Labour get elected the Tory money men pull the investments back refusing to release money throws everything in the air....jezzza is electable stop believing every thing that the Tory press put out about him ....do your own research . You might be enlightened .they the Tories are running scared of him privately....including that war criminal ( my opinion ) Tony Blair ....but that's another issue away from this...

You don't have to be wealthy to vote Tory, just as in the same breath you don't have to be poor to vote Labour, people vote for a certain party for there own reasons, I am a working class bloke if given a choice to vote May to keep Corbyn out of No 10 then I would, not that I like the woman because I don't but I detest him even more

Remember how the Tories blamed Labour for the financial meltdown for years?

Brexit will be the stick to beat the Tories in years to come and they will have absolutely no defence for it whatsoever a total mess of own making from start to finish.

I'm not a tory, never voted conservative, never will. This is certainly the most woeful government in my conscious political lifetime. It's also the case that it's the worst opposition in my lifetime.

If you look at one good thing the tories have done... the personal allowance. It was a lib dem policy, they hijacked it as their own, but they have continued with it and increased it further. I don't think there can be a single person that is disappointed that the personal allowance is £11,850, compared to £6,475 in 2010.

Labour could say they'd match or go beyond it, but among all the other dreadful policies, they have put in place a policy that eases the tax burden on people on lower incomes.

Its easy to get whipped up into hyperbole in this day and age.. but it is possible that people you generally like, may do things you can openly say you don't agree with, and vice versa... there may be people you generally disagree with about everything who then do something or say something that you agree with. Not everything is so black and white... if people realised that was the case, maybe we wouldn't have such gridlock in and out of parliament.
