....... ‘Players of our dreams’ ???
What a strange post that is.

These are not players of our dreams !!! - that’s the point I’m actually making.
They are exceptionally talented players that would cost us - but their cost would be worth that investment.
And IMO - if we are to progress then these are the types of players the owners have to go that extra mile for.
There’s not many - they pass our way rarely - but they need to be nailed down when they do

Go on then. Explain how on 12,000 gates, we can afford the salary of one of those players and still meet FFP requirements?

Don’t forget to take into account that if you’re paying one of those £40,000 a week (which isn’t an outrageous estimation) the rest of the squad are not going to be happy on £3,000.

    Point is ..........
Did you hear anything about us EVEN TRYING or ENQUIRING???
When exceptional talent passes by - most fans can see it.
But the previous owner let it go by.
    Will these ???

The owners GIVE money to the club to cover transfer fees and wages.

Well tbh I wouldn’t imagine we tried at the time because don’t forget he was on prem wages at the time and there would at least been 20/30 in a better position ,
Granted they wouldn’t have all been interested at the time but we weren’t in a great position .
I get your sentiment but we have to be in a loftier position to implement it .

You were clearly as unsuccessful a hooligan as you are a wind up merchant. Although, to be fair, you've got me replying but I'm aghast at what anyone gets out of posting such utter tripe as you come out with day after day.

    LOL
    Thank you.
Eventually - if yer wait long enough - someone with an ounce of common sense posts a decent reply.

As you say - relegation most probably killed our chance.
But at some point we will need the likes of Barnes and McBurnie and Hourihane.
And those posting on here that are suggesting otherwise are just spewing out their usual SH.ITE !!!
The sh.ite that we come to expect from the usual suspects.

What you say is right but at the wrong time .
The likes of McBurnie Barnes etc would have been great additions and in the days of John Hendrie , Bassett etc we could have gambled and they would have been good gambles as Darren Barnard Matty Appleby etc proved but we gave to get in that position first and be realistic .

    Thanks for that.
But yer don’t need to tell me I’m right.
    I know I am.
No matter how much the sheep tend to flounce.
    Entertaining tho.

At some point the owners will have to make a few gambles.
As things stand they are building nicely.
    The cake is looking great.
But at some point there will be a need for icing.

Ye but your calling for it now and that’s where your argument falls down .
We all know we need quality but we have to take into account that we need to build and if that means selling a jewel to invest in possible two jewels and on and on till we get to where we would like to be that’s good investment .
We are where we are not because we should be but because we try and prepare to be

Simple as that. Maybe you should become a FFP consultant.

I’m not saying we should sign players like these now.
I’m saying - while they were at the club we should have at least tried - because at some point the club will need these type of players.
And when we do get into the Championship we will definitely need players like these.

Another consideration is this - the policy of the club right now is to buy and not to loan.
Which has the positive that we are not developing players for other clubs.
But on the negative side we don’t get to see how good young players like Barnes and McBurnie are with a view of trying to sign them.

Yes but don’t forget it wasn’t a case of signing Hourihane, Bree, Morsen etc on the contracts they were already on .
They or more probably their agents would have wanted a lot more ,
It’s not the straight forward case you think that because they cost us nowt we could keep them .
Hourihane left us for a reportedly £30,000 a week and if anyone thinks we could compete with that is totally wrong and to let him go in August for nothing when we got top side of £3m for three months is nonsense imo .
