Can't see anything on social media but wouldn't be surprised. Can't blame him for wanting first team football or us wanting to cash in on him so we don't lose him for nothing. I'm sure we will have a replacement ready to come in to stop us being screwed.
Bad news, a good solid defender, leaves us without cover in a key position. Easy to sell players but difficult to recruit in January.
Can't be that difficult to recruit in January when he will be the third we've let go. I rate him and he'd fit in well if we played three CBs but I don't blame him for wanting to go. Wherever he goes next he will be in a better place than he was before we signed him.
Can only agree with others. I can understand why he wants to leave but we will miss him. And as Plobby has commented he will be required as soon as he has left. The other point is that we know he can play with either Pinnock or Lindsay and any new signing will need time to get that understanding. But of course we are known as a selling club and an easy touch!
To sell Jackson without a surefire replacement would be daft especially as our policy is to buy young and develop. Now is not the time to be dropping a development player into the front line if injuries strike the spine of the team. If Jackson were to leave this window we'd want a youngster for the future and a plug in experienced loan as replacements.
A bit of a contradiction there. We, Barnsley, always seem to find it difficult to recruit but we, Barnsley, always seem to find it easy to sell. A midnight 31st January panic is our norm.
At his age he needs to playing week in week out so cant blame him for wanting to move. We will just bring in a young centre back from national league or scotland, all hail the mighty spreadsheet....
We've been linked with Aaron Pierre from Northampton (were also when he was at Wycombe) and Sowumni from Yeovil, although he is still only getting back to fitness. Interesting how their form has dipped since he has been out. Good leader as captain as well. We will need one of those already lined up to replace Jackson if he goes. Otherwise we will be left very thin at the back. I still fancy us getting in Jack Payne from Huddersfield on a permanent.
You're right in that you can't blame Jackson for wanting first team football but in all likelihood we could need him this second half of the season. Suppose one of our first choice CB's picks up a season ending injury or gets set off on Saturday then Jackson could slot straight in as he's familiar with the set up and knows what Stendel expects etc. I just wish for once the club would not put money first and think about what we need on the playing side to help us achieve promotion this season. If Jackson leaves on a free in the summer so be it. As others have pointed out the fee will be undisclosed, retained a future interest, blah, blah blah, heard it all before. Really nothing has changed from the old regime.
We’ve definitely got our eye on a replacement. Very left field and not named on here or anywhere else I’ve seen so far.
Bailly Cargill, or Moore-Taylor from MK Dons might fit the bill for us as well. Mansfield have the best defensive record in Division Two with MKD not far behind. Cargill would be the better option in terms of age, height and previous experience. CJ Hamilton is the best of the Mansfield up-and-coming stars, but do we need another wide attacker, having just brought in Green?
Gutted to see him leave. He is a good footballer and the best 'talker' in defense. I cannot understand why we don't play 3-5-2 with Jackson on the right of a back three and two wingbacks in the middle five. 'Caberet' spends most of the game in the opponents half as it is.
We really don't need to play 3 defenders in this league, 2 is sufficient as our defensive record proves.
