Talking of blues.............. Just been away at Skeggy for the rock/blues weekend. Whilst there aren't the big names that are mentioned in this thread there are some very fine musicians there. Me and the current mrs leebrilleaux enjoyed the weekend so much that we've already booked for next year.
Apparently there’s a Caribbean blues cruise that does obviously what it says on tin but I’ve heard you have to book a few years in advance . Not looked into to it and I know it’s only a click away from finding out but I don’t want to look cos I’ll want to book and I haven’t got the cash as yet but one day (I’ll be a millionaire rodders )
Blues is not something I usually get into....but....some of it can be fantastic if not overplayed...this is one example...written and sung with sincerity and a lovely but simple walking bass, with again a simple but very haunting Hammond organ (probably) setting the mood ....from 1967 Toussaint McCall.....covered brilliantly by Mike Spenser & The Cannibals ten years later...not better, just complimentary. https://theimmortaljukebox.com/2014...ssaint-mccall-nothing-takes-the-place-of-you/
