We've lost our assistant gaffer, but replaced him with an ambitious hungry local lad. Really liked Winkler but Tonge's got the chance now to make a name for himself.

We've replaced Potts a square peg in a round hole with a young hungry speedy winger.

We're still well set for automatic promotion.
I've no doubt some players will have clauses, but they'll have been put in place for us to make a tidy profit. You can't blame the players, coaching staff or board. This is modern day football.

I have on very good authority that no one will be leaving unless it's a massive offer.
We now value of our starters.

Get behind em and move on.

I very rarely post due to the constant childish bickering. I used to love the banter but at times I question why certain folk support the team.
Tarn have always sold our best players, I've watch em since 1985, but we reinvent ourselves.

We are a Championship team, history proves this, so get behind em and let's get back to where we belong.

It is, owners have seen marked changed in performance from those without clauses. Relegation always carries it's own issues. Some players and their agents have higher opinions of themselves. Remember this though, we also like a sell on clause.

    This!
You mean we like to take advantage of others clubs players with a sell on?
We surely wouldn't want to insert them voluntarily into our players contracts?

Agents wanted them in contracts following relegation. We allowed this and inserted our own. Remember financial fair play, we adhere to it. The long game abiding by rules will make us stronger. The bubble will burst, the EFL are bricking it When banks call in debts it's not a game. EFL have no influence on these matters.

What was your main role at Barnsley Andreas?
Daniel had very little English when he took the position of head coach. I've helped get Daniel's message across to the players and the media and given Daniel the benefit of my experience after years of coaching in Germany.

Do you speak German Dale? No.
How much experience do you have have coaching the senior team? None really, I've only ever coached in the academy.

There's no point getting all hysterical, but let's stop pretending that selling first team players, and replacing them with kids, and losing a trusted friend and colleague of the manager, and replacing him with someone with very little experience, is in any way a good thing. It may not hurt us that much we'll have to wait and see, but it's hardly ideal.

I agree, it is worrying that Winkler has gone and it's a big step up for Tonge. However, I think it's incorrect to suggest Winkler has years of coaching experience. Fairly certain this was his first permanent coaching job? Having previously been a director of football and youth co-ordinator (whatever that is) and a small stint coaching youth teams.

I don’t intend to argue at all. But who are all these first team players we’ve replaced with kids? Is there a mass exodus I’ve missed?

Let's step back and watch the next two matches.

We lost one of our three first team coaches.
The head coach is still here, Stern is still here.
Winkler was sporting director in his last role, so gives you an idea of what each of them add to the team.
I really liked him, but we are fortunate to have had a coaching team!

Team wise, there are lots of rumours.
However we have lost one regular first teamer and a bit part cockney wide boy who seems happy now he can play where he wants with his mates, (this is the one I really hope flops and equally then derails their promotion push).
    That would be satisfying :D
    Lets wait & see.

Lets not forget, the majority have been crying out for wingers with pace.
The club brought in two, they may not be the finished article, but Dan & Chris will sort that.

We also have the Uruguayan lad, I know he is predominantly being touted for the u23's, but again, no one really knows how good he is.
Personally see him taking McDonaghs place in the u23's, but he could turn out to be a star and jumping the queue for the first team....

Personally I think there will be more goings & comings unfortunately, but so far, I still think we are up with our dealings.
Hopefully the remaining changes affect fringe players whom we can replace with higher quality!

    Who mentioned a mass exodus?

Potts and Moncur played for the first team.
    Are you alright? Seriously.

What’s happened so far in January (off the field) is far from encouraging but many urged waiting to the end of the window before passing comment so i’ll do just that.

I’m absolutely fine, but still wondering which first team players we’ve replaced with kids?

Potts at 24 and replaced with a 22 year old. Moncur part of the first team squad but depending on your opinion ensured we had a lack of balance to our midfield options off the bench. Featured through necessity rather than being rated (potentially).

Not sure our transfer dealings are finished yet either.

I think it's fair to say he's a lot more experienced than Dale Tonge. That doesn't mean Andreas is the better coach, I really can't comment on that. I hope Dale has a great career. But I got the impression that Andreas was an older head who Daniel trusted and relied upon some what, which Dale isn't. Maybe I'm wrong.

More experienced in certain roles in football yes, but not particularly in coaching. Whether that makes a difference or not who knows.

We've lost one and a half first team players. So far.

The loss of any others would be dispiriting to us as fans, and no doubt the first team squad also cos they'd be able to see the quality deficit on the training field, and wonder how ambitious we actually were, at a time when we should be cracking on.

Chucking new raw lower leaguers into the mix will not cut the mustard when we had the material to go on and blast this league.

Why for once in January, when we have a real shot at automatic promotion, can't we go on to strengthening the first team, rather than submit to weakening?

Has Tonge been given the job permanently, or is he filling in until we replace Wee Willy Winkie?

Potts and Moncur have 374 league starts between them. And 65 league goals.

We've signed 3 players with 38 league starts between them and 6 league goals. Well, one player has amassed all those, in league 2, the other 2 haven't played league football.

As I said, we've sold first team players and signed kids.
