    Absolutely!

    It's the hysterical nature of the reaction that never ceases to amaze me.

    I was gutted, absolutely gutted when we sold Carl Tiler to Forest. However, I didn't threaten to burn my season ticket, boycot the club and burn John Dennis's fruit and veg shops to the ground. I moaned at a mate but turned up to the next game nonetheless. It does seem a recent phenomenon that people can't just "be disappointed" - instead the sky has to fall in and there must be consequences for the egregious wrong that has been bestowed upon them.

    I just wish people would read it, shrug and wait and see what the state of play is come Friday morning.

    I was living in Germany for three years during Tiler's time so may have never seen him play. I got to two games per season for those three years, and not all of those were at home. I do remember though laughing my head off when I heard that Clough had forked out £1.4 million for our young centre half.

    History proved what a bad buy it was but that was one of those that worked well for us. His sale financed the building of the East Stand. Pretty good swap I would say.

    Tiler was a fantastic centre half... until the rules were changed and the back pass law came into being. Completely ruined his game. I'm sure Clough would have wrecked his confidence too, just like he did with Currie.
