I promise not to be abusive, Nudge. The main point is whether Potts wanted to go or not and if he did or did not have a release clause. I think it likely he did. We have seen off interest so far for Moore and Pinnock - and reputedly turned down £4 million - I don't know if that's true or not, and you don't know the full facts about the Potts sale. The fans didn't take to Potts when he was first here, and he was the target of some verbal abuse, which he alluded to in his farewell comments, even if obliquely (look it up).I have spelled it out.

    Prediction.
No matter what the results have been - the performances will pick up in February.
That’s if the team remains intact.

Welcome back nudger lad... Got to agree to some point ...selling players in January sends out the wrong message to not only our rivals but can also have an unsettling feeling amongst those that are left ( read Jon Parkin's book that covers imotions and thought patterns about moving on) players need to know they are in a settled side and wanted..not knowing if they are next through the revolving door we operate at oakwell .... That said we weren't privy to the dealings behind closed doors at oakwell nor who's choice it was to leave on either side. Of the Potts saga...So like others we just speculate and some times make 2+2 into 5
Tonight we came from behind to secure a good point. So the lads need applauding for showing some metal for that.
Whilst I haven't been to the game I should imagine numerous factors need building into the defence mechanism and public inquiry of why we have played like we have.
Whilst yes i conceed it same for both teams but the weather and water soddend pitch can't have helped our style of play ... I might be wrong as I wasn't there but I'd hazard a guess it can't have helped...peer pressure too may have unnerved them too thinking about possibly going second that might need factoring in....who knows what it was...we could spend all night debating... So for once let's put it behind us and be happy we haven't lost. Upwards and onwards to the next game ....yes potts experience might have helped we will never know , but let's just hope no more go through the revolving door just yet as that would derail us in my opinion too, and yes would divide the fans even further let alone the distance between us and the board. It's no good panicking or calling individual players or errors, there's still plenty of games to go ... hopefully more highs than lows.
Anyway nudger once again welcome back and if you allow me to offer you one bit of advice ...your bigger than most in more ways than one so don't allow yourself to resort to name calling and abuse just rise above it man and don't keep shooting yourself in the foot by lowering your standards to get even with some ...refusing the bait helps you to become the bigger man

Brave prediction considering the last two performances have been so poor. It's a bit like predicting the weather in Chicago will get warmer in February.

The same Potts that went missing for a whole month a few games before we sold him? I like him as a player but the performances in the last two games wouldn't have improved with Potts in the side. When the whole team have an off day, Potts wasn't the player that would grab a game by the scruff of the neck and drive the team forward - he would join in with the other players in being poor.

Performances like the last two happen. And will probably happen again before the season is out. The resilience and fight the lads are showing is the positive we should take in to Saturday rather than claiming the players are under enormous pressure all because Brad Potts went to Preston!

Moore has 4 in 4 since Potts left. Thiam has 2 in 4. I'd love to see what they could do if they were concentrating...

I agree. I suspect we're going to be in for a rollercoaster ride just like the other teams around us. I don't think the Potts sale would have changed anything either. If we can keep up the momentum and stay relatively clear of injuries we should be ok.

Teams who can play well and obliterate the opposition week after week are of the ilk of Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Armchair season tickets are available from Sky.
