    Didn't someone say after the Bradford match at home that we were after signing a player who was on loan at City and most presumed it was Grant.

    Yes maybe everyone assumed the rumours about us signing one of their loan players was off course. Maybe it was Miller not Payne.

    If he signs we'll have four strikers on the books and Brown and Bahre who can do a job. I'd be more than happy with that.

    I still think that although Moncur and Izzy weren't used very much (in relation to other players) that we could do with one more body in midfield with Potts/Moncur and Izzly going/likely to be going.

    Fair play to the club if we get him in and don't lose anyone else. They will have gotten a number of players on relatively expensive contracts off the books and brought in exciting young talent who can support the solid established squad and eventually challenge for starting positions/replace team members if they leave in the summer. I think we're starting to see the first signs of the owners' long term plan at play here.

    We have that extra body in Dougall and it upsets the balance of the team shoehorning players in just to give them game time.

    Dougall has been there since the start of the season. Net effect is 3 midfield bodies out since beginning of the season and only 1 (arguably 2 with Styles) in. I'm not talking about shipping in players for the sake of it.

    I'm saying a body to cover potential injuries to Dougall/Mowatt/McGeehan. If one or two of them are injured for any point in time the centre of the park looks a little threadbare.

    Agree he can do a job, but still factual that numbers wise we're less than we had at the start of the season in the middle (if Izzy does indeed go).

    Edit: Granted this Elliot Simoes is considered a midfielder - so maybe im being somewhat harsh. Sounds more of a forward type player though.

    We've a decent number in the middle for 2-3 spots. Dougall, Mowatt, McGeehan, Bird and Bahre.

    Really impressed with Brown, Vic, is OK, but not sure he is going to make our first team as a regular starter. I may be wrong, I hope. He has pace, but his composure & touch is lacking.
