    1.5 million had already been offered so presumably Sunderland caved least minute and offered silly money. Bet he'll be on a cracking wage too as they can't afford to lose this one now.

    So they might have signed McGeehan for a fee so small the transfer didn't get reported. I think it's safe to say this didn't happen.

    Don't think it was a wind up, I pop on occasionally for a laugh and they have been smugly watching Kieffer for ages convinced he was theirs in the window, I genuinely think some of them are convinced that no player would ever turn them down, very Wenesdayesque!

    Just trawled through all the deadline day confirmed transfer and loan deals on the official
    BBC Sport website. Can confirm, there is no entry to show that Will Grigg has left Wigan
    to join Sunderland. Also looked at both Clubs individual pages. No mention of Grigg on
    either of those. They look to have bought Leadbitter from Middlesbrough and taken Celtic
    winger Lewis Morgan and Spurs forward Kez Stirling on loan and that's it.
