RIP. They've located the wreckage. The only good part about it, is if they recover the bodies, hopefully their loved ones will be able to give them a decent funeral.

Its hard to say this without sounding callous and macabre but they won't find the bodies. Its been 2 weeks. There won't be any bodies left to find. The circle of life in the sea will have seen to it.

It shows how quickly the authorities could have done the same if there had been a will to. Now the privately funded search has found it within hours, the Air Accident Investigation Branch have moved in.

I'm not sure that's fair, maybe they've been lucky rather than it being easy?

Not callous at all. All that we having living in the sea, they will have seen them as food.

The authorities HAVE done this. The privately funded search has worked alongside the official search, it sent replaced it.

All that stopped was the search and rescue mission, the official search for the plane by the authorities continued. It was just extremely badly worded in press statements

still cant believe a player costing 19 million was picked up in a single prop plane, thought it would be a jet of some description

Body's survive longer than that especially n such cold water. Obviously not going to be in great condition but it's quite feasible to find them in one piece. Bodies have been found in plane crashes months after they went into the water.

Clearly I am no expert, so can only suggest that you must be right if examples exist of bodies having been found. Certainly hope they could be found. Still think it extremely unlikely if they are not in the wreckage though. But what do I know....

Unfortunately bodies can survive, the decomposition process creating gas which then sees the body to start swelling and becomes a floating platform which often then attracts crabs and the like ...not a pleasant sight or smell for that matter .
Coroner can tell how long the body has been in the water.

I fail to understand how a pilot with only a PPL was flying a £19m footballer.

Just been announced that the rescuers can see a body inside the wreckage of
the plane. Hope they find the other one so their loved ones can have closure.
    Really sad for everyone concerned.

Not so, when the plane was lost on radar an immediate search and rescue operation was launched specifically to try and locate survivors and floating debris. The reason they found the wreckage on the seabed so quickly was due to accurate co-ordinates given by air traffic control i.e. where they lost the aircraft on radar. Two completely different operations

Whilst the finding of the wreckage and body is certainly a news item, I'm not comfortable with being shown images of it. Can't speak for the families obviously.

Was listening to someone (from the AAIB I believe) on Radio Wales earlier this afternoon. He was saying that they can see a body on the left side of the plane at the front, typically where the pilot would be - although he was at pains not to be specific as to the identity.

He also said that it’s not unusual to not be able to get sight of people within a plane that’s been involved in a crash. Looking at the fuselage, it appears relatively intact to me and wouldn’t be surprised to find that both bodies were in there.

Whist it will obviously confirm the worst fears for the family, hope they can finally get closure from this awful situation.
