They're a very good team and not like Sheff Utd of old. Where are Brian Deane and Tony Agana when you want to complain about throwing elbows.
I didn't think their squad had much about it and thought last season was a flash in the pan, but fair play to them for being even better this year. Spent a hell of a lot less than some of their peers too.
Unfortunately looks like they're nailed on for the play offs as the bare minimum this season. Wilder is a very good manager, not spent a lot of money compared to other clubs in that league but getting everything out of those players! I'm hoping they lose in the play offs, McCabe and the Prince continue their long dispute and don't back Wilder in the summer and so he f**k's off - Then next season they are back down the bottom end of the championship while we take the league by storm! (Assuming we get promoted!)
Gotta give them credit. They are much more pleasing on the eye than when they had the likes of Morgan and Tonge in the team. They play football the same way as us and also like us don't pester the ref often enough with gamesmanship.
Ffs. On one hand I have the pleasure of the way our season is going but on the other hand I'm getting mightily hacked off that Leeds, Liverpool and Sheffield United are doing well.
That's one of the reasons i hate em with a passion if that had happened to them they go absolutely crazy. Everything bad that happens to them is everyone else's fault even if it's their's.At least if they do go up and hopefully we will we won't have to play em!
The difference in wage bill between Villa and Sheff Utd will be massive but Villa are just a team of individuals. Sheff Utd play as a team and it truly shows how far you can get when you get the cohesion right in a team. From league 1 to the top of the championship in little more than a season and a half .... keeping key players is the secret I think anything is possible ... we are more than capable of doing what Sheff Utd are doing , certainly provides food for thought as to what is possible !!
major difference though is that we don’t have a core 25,000 fans like the Blunts have, nor are we ever likely to
Mental note. Don't listen to Praise or Grumble tomorrow.! The gloating will be unbearable. Two one Ken is bound to be on. He could talk a glass eye to sleep that bloke. Brian the Blade keeps phoning in, urging Mester McCabe to sack Wilder because unlike Brian's claim, " he's not a good Manager, wot like I am when I managed in the Meadowhall Sunday League." Absolutely unbelievable.
Yes granted having a large fan base obviously helps but Bournemouth or Burnley don’t have such large fan bases but they have kept their teams together .
I don’t think they have a core anything near 25,000 tbh. They doing well now with winning games etc and they had a few cheap ticket deals in league one but their core isn’t near 25,000.
