Looked at a few article last night about players who've suffered a fractured skull, and it could be anything from 3-4 weeks like Michael Keane, to retirement, such as in the unfortunate case of Ryan Mason. Cech was out for three months I think. It goes without saying that taking risks in such a situation would be an extremely bad idea, so unless it is a very minor fracture such as in Keane's case, I don't think we'll be seeing Kieffer again this season.
Yes we should have but now isn't the time for that. If true I really hope it isn't too bad firstly for his health as person and secondly for his career.
Let's not speculate too much. Watching on the TV - it seemed to be serious, but I think we should wait for official news.
Dreadful news and football comes a distant second in all this shows we should have recruited better in January though in terms of cover for Big KeIfer and cauley.
Hope you get back to full health Keiffer, no matter how long it takes. Football really is secondary when a persons well being is at risk. How many clubs have to deal with two such incidents (Hume). I am sure he will receive the best care and can only hope Keiffer recovers fully ️
Only thing that matters is that he's okay and recovers fully. Thoughts with the big man and his family.
Not the time or place to be thinking about the team and transfer dealings, have some empathy for Kieffer instead.
Grow up man. A blokes sustained a serious injured that is at worst life threatening never mind career and you think it’s appropriate to moan about cover. Pathetic.
Awful news if true, but what's all this 'should have recruited better' *****, ffs?!? Like that ******* matters! The lads will go again, someone will step up to keep Kieffer's boots warm while he recovers. Pick your ******* moments, ffs.....
This. Not the time or place. I don’t really agree anyway. We kept Kieffer and have Cauley. We have two of the best, maybe the two very best centre forwards in the division. Then there are Thiam, Brown and Adeboyejo could play up there. You could hardly have expected to bring more in. 451/433 with Thiam and Brown on the wings isn’t a disaster.
Like others have said, he’s out for the season now. Injuries like these also leave mental scars as well as physical. It’s a hard injury to come back from - as we all know. Let’s hope it’s only a small fracture and there’s no further complications. His own personal health is more important than football.
True. We played fine when Moore was out before. If anything, the team might go out and win the league for him. No one can account for injuries like these.
Because of what happened to Hume, we (Barnsley fans) are very sensitive to this type of injury. But there is no reason to believe the complications Hume suffered will happen to Moore. Hume was very unfortunate and what happened was extremely rare. While a fractured skull is not commonplace it's not unusual either and the vast majority who suffer the injury make a full recovery. I'm not underestimating the situation, it is a serious injury and a very painful one, but we shouldn't fear the worst. There's every reason to believe Keiffer will be OK and playing football again, if not this season then at the start of next, with no lasting damage.
no point speculating how long Keefs gunna be out or this signing or that, best thing to do is wish the lad a speedy recovery and let him know we will be behind him all the way!
