Excellent refereeing display, the best I've seen at Oakwell this season.

    Well done that man!

Except for the penalty. Ours also looked soft.

I presume that we commend refs upon the basis of how many chants we get from the visiting fans of "you don't know what you're doing"'?

Didn't attend but seen the highlights and both pens and the red card look the right decisions to me.

Eh? I thought him and his linesman were woeful.

Didn’t think either penalty was right, and the free kicks he gave them towards the end were laughable.

Different eyes see different things I guess, unless you’re being sarcastic.

Just me who thought ours was a definite penalty then? Bahre clearly gets to the ball and get booted over. Just watch the direction of the ball.

Agreed he did well. Both pens looked justified, as did the red card for the hair pull. Let McGeehan get away with a yellow for a silly lunge. Had to add overtime to ten minutes but again it was justified due to all that happened during injury time.

The worse decision he made was booking McCarthy for his perfectly timed sliding tackle.

I must say where I saw it it looked as though Pinnock was in front of his man with his back to the player when he went down. Be interesting to see it back

Before the final 15 minutes he was decent and one of the best I’ve seen us have this season. Let it slip at the end though.

Excellent ref. All the big decisions correct, kept very calm, allowed robust challenges but punished dangerous ones.

And he did all this without being a prima dona.

How do you think he let it slip mate? I thought there were some tired and reckless challenges going in at the end

I thought the Pinnock penalty was very soft. Some fouls near the end too, particularly a Dougall challenge that was never a foul.

I’m probably being biased though, I usually am.

I can't believe how many think their penalty was justified. I had no view either way at the time as I was at pitch level at the Ponty end side of the ESL but having watched the highlights back, I thought it ranked as one of the worst decisions of the season.

Not seen highlights yet but thought he got wrong side of man and got tangled up with him

My brother was saying he was the best ref this season - then their penalty! Poor Ethan, he’s been done twice now by refs- no way was it a penalty!
Ours was as Mike took the ball away & was clattered

I’ve just watched the highlights back now and you’re totally right - poor decision from the ref on their penalty. Their player took a dive.
