just seen this on Twitter :D

“I honestly cant remember the last player we had who played this many games despite being so poor. Bar his assists and goals, i can't say i see any real quality in him”.

His challenge for WBA's second goal yesterday was very un-Hourihane like. A Villa ST holder I know says it's like his legs have gone this season. Heaven help him if that's true - he's 27 isn't he?
I realised yesterday that I'm not bothered either way. Loved him while he was here but I've moved on. New heroes and all that.....

You couldn’t make up the comments on op. As for his legs having gone, it sounds like a severe case of “lack of motivation “ to me. He was rarely short of that for us

There’s loads of stuff on twitter about him, seems like some fans cheered when he got subbed off. That’s pretty ***** to be fair, I’ve never understood that logic.

I’m also not as bothered about him anymore. He’s still one of my all time favourites but I think the fact that we’re doing so well at the minute is creating the potential of this set of lads achieving something special and becoming fan favourites.

McGeehan is quickly turning into the new Hourihane for me, he appears everywhere on the pitch.

When he can score from free kicks, assists from corners, we'll see. Until then ...

Probably cos he thought he could go places playing for us with our reputation for good young players and now maybe he’s got as far as he thinks he can go so no extra motivation ?
    Just a theory mind

I’d say its probably Mowatt the more likely.

I feel like he was brought in as Conor’s replacement originally and only now he is showing it. Showing it in an exceptionally good manner mind.

He got cheered off when subbed here too once. I'd say he proved the doubters wrong after that!

Every faith he can do well with Villa, but if he wants a new home for next season...

I don’t remember Conor ever being cheered off but I remember once Winnall got cheered off by some in the West Stand upper.

    Fickle football fans eh?

I agree, Conor can definitely prove them wrong in the championship. Whether that’s with Villa or another club who would snap him up.

Yeah certainly at Villa. It pains me to say it but he would be in his element with the blunts this season

Poor bar his goals & assists? Give me strength! He was a quality player for us after a slow/poor start - he’s been gone 2 years so who cares?

    96 Villa appearances.
    17 goals
    14 assists.

    Hardly poor

I remember a West yorks poster on here saying similar. Also assists from corners and free kicks don’t count as any professional footballer should be able to do those

    Scoring goals isn't an attribute.

There’s a good chance he’s carrying an injury if he’s looking leggy.

I remember Joe Williams went from been our best player & energetic to one of our worst & really flat in his last month before going back to Everton. The next update is he’s having a back operation & is out for the season.

I think often we don’t take into account that some players will play whilst not 100% & get stick because of it where as others will be out injured with the same issue
