Has influenced the game a fair bit this season with tactical changes - I was left scratching my head when he brought hedges on but within minutes that burst of pace resulted in a goal.

Really impressed with what he has done with Jacob Brown positionally this year too.

A big shout out has to go to the person who persuaded Daniel to up sticks and come to Barnsley we’ve not had a character like him in the club for a while he knows when to fetch on a sub to shake things up unlike his predecessors who seemed to leave it to late

His overall handling of the young lads has been magnificent. Not afraid to play them, but dipping them in and out of the team to make sure there were no losses of confidence. Jacob Brown and Ben Williams appear to have a very bright future in the game. I just hope it's with us for the next few seasons.

Another thing endearing about Daniel is that he is willing to hold his hands up and admit when he’s made a mistake, that is a fantastic quality to have not only for a football coach but in any walk of life.

I'm sure he will be unless he has s good offer from somewhere a lot closer to home. He's been amazing and is clearly a motivational coach who us getting the best out of his team.Happy days.

He's a very clever football man. When I was lucky enough to watch him take us through the presentation he gave to get the job, I thought of some of the managers we'd had in the past and questioned whether they'd be able to deliver the same kind of approach. Not just our managers, but those in other jobs as well. I think we could keep him for a few years, but inevitably he'll end up at a much bigger club than Barnsley long term - which is great because it means we'll have been successful.

Not that it matters, but by all accounts he was a very tidy footballer too.

It will be interesting to see what he does tonight. Cauley played for Cloughie
at Burton and the latter says he has a strategy to neutralise his goal threat.
Sounds as though he's planning to get men behind the ball and probably try to man
mark our strikers. That of course provides an opportunity to attack them out wide.
In my view , tonight could be one of the most important games we've had thus far
and could give us a real boost going forward if we win.

Yep although it’s gettinf to that stage now where I am thinking ‘this is our most important game of the season’ every time we play!

I hope the board recognise how valuable Daniel Stendel is, and "amend" his contract accordingly. I suppose it's inevitable he'll leave one day, but we need to push that day as far into the future as possible.

Agreed the bloke has been a breath of fresh air after the last few months of Heckingbottom and Morais. I think we all had our concerns when we appointed a non-English speaking head coach after Morais but he's been fantastic from day one.

I thought the Hedges for Thiam substitution was an obvious one. Thiam was drifting further and further out of the game and change was needed. I felt the Bähre substitution was more of a head scratcher as he was still heavily involved in the game.

Couldn't agree more and it goes to show how much less stick he has come in for. Yes we are doing well but when we have played bad and he's come out and said it was a mistake on his part the vast majority of fans just seem to accept that and move on. Stubborness is a lot harder to take when you can see something isn't working and they do it over and over again.

I wondered that too. The only possible explanation I could come up with is that we were 2 up and looking in control of the game, so maybe he had tonight's game in mind and wanted to save some legs?

Still early days but Herr Stendel could be our best managerial appointment since Allan Clarke

Quite possibly. Although the joke of a penalty decision by the ref ensured we weren’t going to have a comfortable finish.

It was worrying at the supporters meeting they wouldn't say how long his contract is. They side stepped the question.

We could do with an amendment to the Brexit rule which states that EU citizens already resident in the UK “will be allowed to stay” to say “will not be allowed to leave” :D

Good idea. At last someone has found a positive in the bungling Brexit buffoonery.
