She was far too nice to be a Tory.

Super impressive press conference today. Whatever the centrist party is, would not do badly with common sense open language like she expressed. Best of luck to her for making a brave decision, especially with the status quo worried and willing and eager to smear and bully

Agreed. It's not even a real party yet but it has my vote.

I would nt vote for the new party , a quick look over at France pays testement to that idea but I thought the Tory 3 were far more politically aware than the labour side , but I did vote labour last . Maybe the whole thing will be a political dumping ground for both parties moving forward .

If a centrist party was to take off, are you not worried that would be an end to choice? If they are in the middle, many wouldn't vote left or right, and therefore we'd be stuck with the same party doing the same thing and nothing would ever change?

This makes no sense at all. A successful centrist party would mean more choice. Most constituencies are a straight fight between Labour and the Conservatives. A strong third party would be a welcome change. The others aren’t going to disappear.

A hard left political party is pretty much unelectable in this country under the present system.
The only alternative to the awful Tory dominance is a centrist option.

Most other developed countries have governing coalitions. This involves trade offs on new policies, but it usually limits the political excesses that we've had in this country for the last decades.

I don't understand why you people aren't backing the lib Dems if you want a centre choice that is fighting Brexit and is pro-european.

I agree that we should have PR. There isn't room for another party with FPTP anyway.

Exactly my point, the new independent party are just saying the what the Lib Dem’s have been saying for years but they haven’t joined them!

They obviously know the lib dems are tainted after their dalliance with power and have zero credibility, mind not that it matters to this lot it seems.
