Watched it with my teenage daughter last night, never heard of most of the folk on stage. Am so old ! But Pink is a class act and has been for years, deserves rhe success she’s earned and humble about it too.
Same here TTS apart from a few acts, I was watching some acts for the first time. Can't understand why the press are praising the performance of compère Jack Whitehall. Too many cheap political jokes and an inappropriate reference to " fat people" which has been interpreted as a slight against Little Mix's Jesy Nelson, who he was sat near at the time.
Every song she releases. Is pure magic. Would absolutely love to see her live. Best live performance I’ve ever seen on TV was when she sang Blow me one last kiss. (Blew me away pardon the pun) On the Jonathan Ross show.
Saw her in Sydney a few years ago was brilliant then, just been looking at tickets for June at Anfield, start at £196 up to £300+ where do they get these prices from?
She was great and deserved her award after around two decades of hits. Sings live and writes her own songs. Just wish she hadn't just done a medley of her more recent songs, as her RnB early days like You Make Me Sick and There You Go where very good songs to her noticed in the early Noughties before moving on to songs like Don't Let Me Get Me and Family Portrait. On the other hand Brits had Little Mix miming to a song called Woman Like Me which was written/produced by two males out of the three involved (Ed Sheeran, Steve Mac, Jess Glynne). Calvin Harris with his medley was another highlight.
Pinks first six singles were written without any input from her whatsoever. She only helped write the seventh to give her input into factual elements that the actual song writer then worked into a song. Little mix are credited as writers of songs from their second single onwards. Wings, DNA, how ya doin?, Change your life, move, salute, little me, shout out to my ex. Little mix have writing credits for all f those hit singles. Ps the one out of three involved in writing woman like me. Is that Jesse Glynn or Nicki Minaj?
A song called Woman Like Me still had more males involved in the production of it, so that Little Mix could mime through it last night. I can't say I know much about 1975 but a lot of Little Mix fans were moaning they won best group when they write their songs, sing live and play instruments. Twenty years ago the music industry was even more sexist than it is today. I doubt many if any big name females at the turn of the century wrote their own songs in their early years such as Xtina and Britney. Nowadays plenty of females get to write their own music to get released straight away. It's thankfully a different business. Pink has released really good music under many different genres such as RnB, Pop, Pop Rock and Ballads.
Took the wife to see her at the Arena yonks ago, I didn't like it one bit... was more like a pantomime, finding any excuse to get randoms up on stage so she could cavort around them in an increasingly dizzying array of bad-stripper outfits. Not my cup of tea, much preferred Biohazard at Bradford Rio...
Christina's break through hit (genie In a bottle) was co written by a woman. So was 'what a girl wants' her second number one. She co wrote her third number one (come on over) and her number 3 hit '' turn to you' was written by a woman. She co wrote her iconic song dirrty. In fact almost every Christina aguilera song was written or cowritten by a woman. Christina aguilera and Linda Perry have collaborated to write a few hit singles over the years.
I don't think dirrty was aimed at young lasses was it? If it was it really missed the mark with the video. Little mix I knew had co written a few songs because I'd seen it mentioned so did a quick check. Christina I have to admit I like quite a lot of her songs. She's got a cracking pair of lungs on her (no that's not a euphemism) Not a clue whether Britney ever wrote anything
Let's be honest, an artist having a writing credit doesn't reflect how much of the song they actually wrote, they could literally have just suggested changing a word. My missus loves Lemonade by Beyonce but it's transparently an album made by committee with very little creative input from her, yet she has a writing credit on every song.
More of a Halestorm fan myself when it comes to female fronted bands . not heard of Hands Off Gretel before but they came in Planet Rocks top 10 new bands and from Barnsley apparently
