May be an Olympic sport ,
Be good it’s domething I’d go and watch tbh .
It may start a re run of the craze , something easy inexpensive for the kids to do . Keep em fit and healthy , off the streets . Hope it takes off personally .

Not a sport though is it. It's an art but it's not a sport.

Well I suppose it’s open to interpretation. But if it provides the benefits I’ve highlighted I’m all for it .
    No expensive kit etc

Keep kids of the streets!? Isn't that where break dancing evolved?

It's certainly entertaining to watch when done properly but an Olympic sport? Not for me.

I think it originally started as a street dance in parts of New York. So more a case of keeping them on the street but doing something positive.

Not sure where it’s started but I think it’s great , used to watch em on the streets in eighties they were brilliant and extremely fit and healthy .
I just think if it’s passed as an Olympic sport it’ll give it a massive platform and clubs etc would spring up all over the country as it’s inexpensive and easy to organise .
Not saying it’s a sport or not but the exposure would really get it going .
Ashley banjo got more dance clubs going after their appearance on BGT do this would be massively imo anything to get kids off streeets

I agree, it is fascinating to watch when done right. I remember seeing back in the early days of Hip Hop and thinking it was amazing. I was utterly rubbish at it and just looked ridiculous when I tried it.

Young people at the Youth Club I managed were heavily into break dancing.
Done well, it's really great to watch, but as MK and ST say , it really shouldn't be
    an Olympic event.

I’m still untying knots in my arms and legs from when I tried it lol,
Some of the moves with the kids on telly were unbelieveable. Great to watch hope it makes a big comeback

By that token any type of public display should be classed as a sport.
Ballet, mime, stand up comedy, acting. In fact anything in life that you can ascribe marks for performance to. Getting out of bed in the morning. I stubbed my toe yesterday so the mrs only marked me as a 4.5.

Daughter has done competitive cheerleading for about 11 years. They've been pushing to get it recognised for years - be more do cheer than breakdancing

Apparently this is maybe replacing other real sports like squash and karate. No problem with it being part of the fringe "sports" in the Olympics but I don't think other sports should be removed as a result of break dancing being included.
