    So, according to the Chronicle, plans are afoot to build a hotel, offices, and numerous houses on the courthouse car park. The council thinks that will encourage people to stay in town rather than travel to Leeds or Sheffield! How does that work then?

    They won’t be able to park, so will give the town a big miss. They’ve already demolished one multi story, so car parking is at a premium in any case.

    And we pay money to these people to make these nonsense decisions
    I know we will spend £180 mill doing the town centre up then get rid of 750+parking spaces to encourage people to shop here not bad to say they are skint I would have rather they used the £180 mill for schools day care centres old folks homes

    Utter stupid decision only compounded by the way they infer that some of the spaces will be replaced by new multi stories (without saying where) but don't actually say ALL the spaces will be.

    I only really go into town for home games now. So if they shut off this car park looks like the wife will be dropping me off or a taxi.

    Have they revived the Courthouse Campus idea? If so the 2 multi storeys were to be built on the site along with a large grassed park area.
