Seems very unfair. All over the country there will have been offences missed by referees and unpunished. Sky and it's pundits, who aren't contracted to act as spies for the FA, have taken it upon themselves to repeatedly show incidents and as a consequence we've lost one of our best players. I've no problem with Brown. The referee sent him off, but McGeehans treatment seems a tad sneaky and a cheap shot from the FA. If they're not going to trawl through all the footage of every game played, and book players retrospectively for things that officials have missed, they shouldn't be doing it for isolated incidents just because someone has brought it to their attention. We're either going to use technology wholesale or not at all.
Yes I did see that and it just reinforces my opinion. I think our angst is rightly down to the inconsistency of these things. Because someone else got away with one, then so should we....no, the world’s not that fair!
My unpopular view was it appeared deliberate, just my view on it. Wouldn't call it a stamp more that he stood on him. Only Cameron will know for sure. Its done now we have to find a way through these 3 games. We will find out if our squad is up to it.
I honestly feel like I'm going mad. I can only imagine that the people defending him didn't see it and have only seen the low-quality and selective clips posted online. I've been looking for the full match video online to try and clip the video, but I've had no luck.
I assume you were stood at the side of the southend bench as you are so certain it was violent conduct.Funny how they didn't react.
In my case, it's not so much a matter of whether it was intentional or not. Only McGeehan knows that. It's the fact that the FA have used the footage just because it's there. I don't even blame sky. Their job is to show everything and discuss it. The fa are opportunists in this case, in my opinion. Scrutinise everything, or nothing if you don't want to appear unfair.
I've seen every angle going, in glorious HD. I watch such things for a living. Not a 'stamp' by any means, but Cam could have definitely done more to avoid contact.
I agree with that 100% - it's unfair that he's been punished when others haven't. However, he gave them the decision to make through his own actions. In my opinion.
Disgraceful decision by the FA, Two things... 1. Did they actually LOOK at the ******* incident? 2. Can they now come out and say that it would be better for the football league that SAFC were to go up and not us !?! Jesus wept !!
You ought to convince someone to run the story and show the clips in glorious HD Ok stamp is a harsh word, but he adjusted his trajectory to ensure he landed on the player. I have no doubt in my mind of that.
I’d like to see the maxwell family and risdale put in charge of the fa’ pension pot the ******* underneathing shitehawks.
The referee didn't see it officially, FitzyT - I get it was under his nose, but there would be no charge raised if the ref had noted it in his report. I believed he was innocent, but the doubt was there & enough to rule him out of my MoM vote (his performance on the pitch led to him being unavailable for 3 matches). As others have said, we march on. Never a dull moment with our Supa Reds
Hadn't realised he'll be back sassoon, FitzyT, but maybe the FA prison officers are gonna shave his head lol.
