Oops, its not getting any better for hi at the moment is it? Effectively going to be missing 4 games unless they appeal. https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...RbbBtTcxyqpL5y_1heZZNQlvJBavXYnyqssn7s_Ah7Kj0
In the light of what's just happened in the brum/Aston villa match no way can the fa overturn it or that's a real mixed message. Plus Stanley's keeper got a red card for chucking a bottle back into the crowd.
He would miss 4, because while he has to miss the Checkatrade final, it doesn't count towards serving his ban.
No , they don’t class the checkatrade game as competitive, so it doesn’t count on his ban. . Seems strange not to be classed as a competive game though
That can’t be right surely you can’t ban him from the checkatrade final and at the same time say it doesn’t count that’s just dumb. On reflection though that wouldn’t stop the EFL
It’s because the rule is that a player is “unable to play in all club matches until the suspension is served” but only “competitive first team matches” count towards the ban, which they don’t class the checkatrade as. I assume the rule is designed to not let players play in reserve games while suspended, but the Checkatrade should probably count as “first team competitive” - maybe it only does not because of the U23 teams?
Actually scrap that it is fair but had luck.Because he is still on his suspension period he can't play competitive matches. Sunderland chose to rearrange though.
Guy i've highlighted in Red is the one that scored, guy in Blue is playing him onside (look at the lines on the pitch)
This week just got bigger for us. We could be ten in front of them Friday night with them having two games in hand. But with us playing 23rd and 30th and them not due to international call ups and Wembley it's a good chance to pull away from them and Sunderland having to win a lot of games in hand just to keep up.
They've already rearranged the Fleetwood game, with only 2 confirmed players on international duty. Other players are yet to be confirmed but the EFL has already called the game off at Sunderland's request. Pretty sure they wouldn't do that for us
