Hope they go bust. I would take relegation. I would accept all the players getting to have their deals torn up to become free agents due to breach of contract.
What angers me too is the sheer lies that Anderson has been spouting, lies on top of lies, loans to pay off loans. When are the fa going to take some initative and do proper jobs on fit and proper owners and/or start dishing out proper deterants ie point deductions for clubs who cant run their clubs. Also why do agents broker deals for their clients (footballers) knowing that teams have previous for not paying wages etc......madness. Sorry Bolton you need a masdive points deduction, demoting to div 2 and barred from transfers for 2 seasons.......there, proper action and a deterrant to other clubs, not hard eh?
The EFL, the FA, the Premier League...they're supposed to look after our game. They don't. All they are interested in is money, keeping it rolling in and yielding on the enforcement of rules for the fear of losing it in court cases brought by cheating, rich clubs.
Anderson supposedly'passed' the the fit and proper persons test because he has a couple of pals high up at the EFL. Given his shady background it'sa disgrace he was allowed to take charge.
There’s only one word to sum up the situation at Bolton - CHEATS! They’ve cheated other clubs who’ve played by the rules, most recently ourselves & Burton. Their financial situation (massive, massive debt) can’t be sorted out unless they cheat their own players, staff, service people & the fans. I normally feel for a clubs fans in such circumstances but they’ve all benefited from the cheating - the EFL (& FA) should deal with this - points deduction & relegation to L2 at least. The manager & players are in an impossible position but will find other clubs.
Yep, the likes of Boston, Chester, Luton were either directly or indirectly busted down multiple divisions. Bolton have been a basket case for years and allowed to get away with it. It's about time something was done with the so called guardians of our game.
Just replace it with a P46 or 'starter checklist' . Bolton can't make it difficult for them, it's just a standard hand your notice in and move jobs . Why would anyone work for an insolvent company that wasn't paying their wages ?
Relegate them to League 2.. Add extra automatic spot for this year to League 1, same to League 2 to balance the numbers up.
Arguably, the football authorities dont really have an incentive to ensure proper governance. Clubs will go into administration to prevent liquidation via a winding up petition in the high court and then someone will come along with a pre-packed buyout proposition for the Adminsitrator. This will involve not paying all the other creditors but in order to retrieve the share in the football league suspended when they entered adminsitration, all football debts must be met. That means the public purse (HMRC), St John's ambulance, the one man band who provided balloons at kids parties (those two are from Leeds) etc can all go whistle, whilst the agents/players/sacked managers etc are paid up. The share in the league is the most valuable asset but the league wouldnt sell it to the highest bidder beyond the club that already held in some re-constituted form. The admistrator's hands are tied so whatever daft offer is made to the non-football creditors he has to accept. It's all a carry on and the league could be said to be a part of it. What should happen is that a relegation place is scrapped in each league and the share in the league should be up for bids nationally to enter league two with all creditors treated equally from the proceeds
That's a sensible call. I'd only add something to guarantee short-term futures for non-football staff at the bust club. Ie 3 month's pay for club shop staff, low level admin etc.
Unpaid wages and redundacy payments are made by the Insolvency Service, ie. Government funds, up to a certain level, so once more the taxpayer (who could spend the money on the NHS, crisis funding for mental health problems with teenagers etc) is stepping in when a bust football club will be paying agents and sacked managers etc. Makes my blood boil.!!!
That's shocking. Yeah, as you say, you shouldn't get the league share unless you're willing to cover that payment for non-football staff. Most of those get shafted every time something like this happens.
