Yes it did. I remember that and it was disgraceful. McHale wasn't my favourite player but even that night he kept trying and didn't hide. I can forgive a bad performance more than lack of effort and Bahre always looks for the ball and puts the effort in, moves the ball forwards and plays on the front foot.
A lot gets talked abart his close control of a football but a lad we`ve seen twice in cameos over last couple of games Jordan Williams showed me the same in a fraction of the time, Young Styles also looks to have it but needs bringing through gently. Bahre has been given plenty of chances and now its time for someone else to be given a go, no problem with him being used as sub coming on when we are winning to keep the opposition under pressure, but when the scores are level we get little from him and last night against better opposition I would have bet mi ******** on him being poor. Stendell`s choice, but come on Danny boy how many lives does this cat have, must admit though as a sub he `d be sh it hot at the keepy uppy tricks and flicks game at haif time.
Home or away? Away he was pretty ordinary. Messed one easy chance up, got away with messing another up. Played a decent ball to woodrow but thats as far as it goes.
Are you joking pal, what about Kenny D first game brilliant after that his touch and pass like a elephant with the **** s
I remember that game and the crowd were wrong! It was pass to McHale then look the other way - every time he got the ball nobody in the team would make themselves available for a pass, resulting in him being caught in possession nearly every time. Not that Bahre had that excuse like.
Styles will retain the ball better and find a Barnsley player alot more than Bahre. I'd bring him in for Bahre in the next game and bring Hedges back in for Green.
Its not one or the other. I think theyre both poor, Bahre particularly. Dougall suddenly became De Bruyne in everyones memory when he got injured, fact is he’s pretty average, at best.
Tbh I’d back him up. Tom Kennedy, Brek Shea, Peter Handyside, Mike Bahre. Thats the kind of bracket he’s in.
As usual opinions are swinging from one extreme to the other on here. I've seen Bahre look sumptuously good but rarely where it matters and, as an attacking style player his goal threat is next to non existent. At the moment without Moore and McGeehan we desperately need someone to support Woodrow other than Thiam.
I don't think either manager named Gareth in their squad but he was definitely to blame for last nights misplaced passing which by the way affected all of them and not just Bahre. I must have bollocked all of them individually over the course of the game. I didn't realise how bad conditions were until I walked down to the front of the stand at full time so I take it all back.
The issue with Bahre for me is that he doesn’t seem to like the physical stuff. If it’s a 50/50 ball, it’s theirs. He just doesn’t seem to go in with enough conviction or belief. Having said that, some of his footwork, when it comes of releases so much space for us it can create huge chances. Definitely alot to do for the coaching staff but there’s a decent player in there in my opinion. He struggled last night but alot of players did in the conditions. I wouldn’t write him off just yet.
Some of the comments in this thread are a ******* disgrace , anybody would think we are in the bottom 4 , Bahre and Dougall would get into any team in this division , in Stendl we trust
