Magnificent today, but I am a fan anyway. Also rate Pinnock highly but he had a poor game by his high standards. Think Grigg gave him a game tonight but trying to play football in that weather must have been difficult to be fair.

Agreed. He's not the quickest but his anticipation and composure at the back make it almost irrelevant.

Agreed. Though I think he's had plenty of decent games, he really led the team tonight, which was needed with Pinnock below his best. Good lad.

I rate him, I think he's a top quality defender. He deserved his MoM tonight.

Yeah he was good tonight one of the few games this season he outshone pinnock. Motm for me was between Lindsay, cavare and mowatt.

Was clear MOTM today. Davies would have got second place & Pinillos third for me.

Pinnock had a bad 20 minutes second half, around the time he was booked.

As I’ve said before, Lindsay is the one who could step up a level and still be as good. Tonight was probably the only time this season the lads will get tested in a potential championship standard game/atmosphere. Lindsay was immense, as was Mowatt.

Excellent tonight and deserved MOTM. Got Pinnock out of trouble on a few occasions and attempted to get the ball on the deck when possible. Will be a fair few more ball marks on his shirt tonight from having to chest it more than usual.

Lindsey was immense setday and last night. Never put a foot wrong. Pinnock struggled with the wind but tbf it was a bloody nightmare in 2nd half. My only slight criticism of them both is they never look a threat from corners. But i think thats more to do with our awful delivery into box........

Lindsay was brilliant last night - and he really needed to be because Pinnock was having an uncharacteristic off night. Thought he was gonna get sent off when he over ran it in the second half. That **** Leadbitter was straight in the refs face demanding a red.

Speaking of the ref, I can't remember having a go at him for anything, so he must have done ok.

How he hasn’t got called up to the Scotland squad I’ll never know. Even picked an injured player over him. I guess it shows more about the ambition and trust in players from Scottish football management than it does about his ability and form.

Lindsay had a strong powerful Ariel game last night however his distribution going forward is generally weak, (excuse last nights conditions), his 'hands on' the opposition, to slow them to his pace is a liability, also his apparent lack of understanding with Davies is also a worry. Looking at our great defensive record though just how good would we be if he was perfect?,

He gets stick off me for shirt pulling and holding but last neet he was very good. Though I was struck between Pinnilos and Mowatt for MoM just like Setdi this time I`ll give it Mowatt, he works like a navvy for us.

I think everyone has a lack of understanding with Davies. Noone knows what he’s gunna do and when.

Watch the last few seconds of this and it sums up Lindsays night. Some on here said you can see why Sunderland don't lose much because they battle, these seconds also summed up my feelings that they were the complete opposite. They **** it when it got tough.

How immense is he? Best centre half in the league by a hundred million miles. Keep him next season and we’ll be reyt.
