How many times can Bahre give the ball away in one half?

I don't for a minute think Bahre is one of the worst players we've had. And I didn't post that. I've seen him play very well.
But I do think people are underestimating just how often he gave the ball away on Tuesday. If you lose the ball every time you get it, often playing it to the opposition, then I don't think it's so over the the top to say that's as bad as you've seen. Doesn't mean he's a waste of space like Deon Burton. He's not, he put the effort in. But his performance was bad.

Technically he’s sometimes brilliant and by far the best in the team, but too often he dodged the physical side of the game and there are question marks over his mental strength as well.

For example on Tuesday night we saw Pinnock Make more mistakes in 5 minutes then he has the entire length of this season, but after those 5 minutes were up he regained his composure and was great once again. Bahre if he has a bad start or a bad 5-10 minutes you know that’s him done for the game.

Good player but in the wrong league I feel and I’m not convinced by the argument that he’d be better in the championship either.

I agree, with Frimpong not far behind him. I rate Bahre, I think he has a class that we'd appreciate more in the championship (if we get there) but I accept that at the minute he is a little inconsistent and can look like a passenger at times. In my opinion we have a very good player who we should be patient with, allow him to adjust further and watch him flourish next season. Again only my opinion but I think we'll be glad we have him next season.

I like Bahre. He had an absolute shocker on Tuesday though
His inconsistency is the reason why some don't rate him. Nevertheless, whilst it is a gamble to play him as, like some have said he can be a passenger we can ill afford, he brings a major plus point when he is on form.
Against teams like Wycombe he has the ability to spot and make the defence splitting pass that can break down stubborn opposition, being one of the very few players we have that can do that. Sadly, like Tuesday that currently translates to giving the ball away far too often.
I am optimistic that he can step up as when he is not playing well, he does not hide and still puts the effort in. I genuinely believe he will come good with the correct guidance.

Fortunately for us our coach (who seems to know what hes doing) asked for him, when he arrived here.
Now even if he has the odd bad game and appears not to fit, the coach keeps playing him.....and if he trusts him .......thats good enough for me.
Imho he will be sub at donny because he needs to recharge.

Not true actually Jay. I’m happy for people to have a different view to mine. That’s what debate should be about. All I was saying is that you seem to be slightly more critical these days than you used to be. Absolutely your prerogative of course.

When I said 'you' I meant all of us, the collective us. I wasn't singling you out.

I actually think what the team has done this season is remarkable. I didn't think they were capable. I thought Danny's team were, before the season even kicked off. And Bassett's. And Johnson/Heckingbottom's. I didn't think this team had got it. I don't think they play as well as often as any of the other teams I've mentioned. But they don't lose. They just refuse. It's an amazing quality. When they're good, they're very, very good, and when they're bad, they still ******* win. What's not to be impressed by.

And on Tuesday Bahre had an absolute stinker. And I said so.

Unfortunately I’m laid up recovering from illness so I’ve not seen the last few games. I certainly think Bahre is a bit of an enigma who some people rate and others don’t. But given I wasn’t there on Tuesday I can’t comment.

I dont get this idea that he’d be better in the Championship. If he’s looked below average all season in essentially a very poor league other than the top 3 teams, why would he look better playing against much better players, in a team that would see much less of the ball? Personally I think he’ll end up in the German 2nd/3rd tier.

I think technically better players look better the higher up the pyramid they play (obviously within their limit). The style of football from opposition teams can be different but more importantly they are usually playing with better players. I can see a player who looks very good technically who I think will get better. I might be wrong, you might be right.

Bahre is similar to pre this season Mowatt. Doesn’t really know his most comfortable position on the pitch. He was asked to play in behind the striker on Tuesday, but kept getting in the way running round like an headless chicken. That position doesn’t suit him unless we play on the break. He’s not a winger, period. Might be useful in centre mid, much like Mowatt now, so we’ll have to see.

As a second striker he offers no goal threat or creativity at all in the final third. I say he’s a second striker because he’s definitely not a central midfielder or a winger. These freestyle performers look amazing and could probably come on at 2/3 nil and look good, fact is he doesnt effect a game. Not that im saying one half decent turn on the half way line a game makes him look good.

Still amazes me we let Mallan go and then gave Moncur away the way we did, two players who score goals. Our team at the minute with the players available relies heavily on Woodrow with only Mowatt or Thiam likely to pop up.
