To be fair he predicted we would struggle before a ball was kicked and the whole team needed getting rid of as failure was embedded in the players.

 

We've done better than I expected, I'll be honest. I never quite subscribed to Conan's view that the whole squad wasn't good enough and should be moved on in 3 windows, or Jay's pre-season academic thesis/tome on why we would struggle. But I didn't think we'd be immediately challenging for automatic promotion, so well done to all the players.

Like many people I suspect, I don't think we should have sold Brad Potts when we did. And I wish we had a striker the quality of Moore as a back up. I think we'll just fall short and finish 3rd or 4th, then we'll have the lottery of the play-offs. But who knows. It's easy to say that more money should have been spent. But we are pretty much level pegging with Sunderland and look at how much they have spent. Nothing guarantees success.

 

Staggering levels of hypocrisy.

Put me on ignore or don't - it will not make one iota of difference to me. I just want to know if you will bump this thread if and when promotion is confirmed.

This one has been great value.
For my part I can’t see why we wouldn’t maintain this excellent run of form but if we don’t I won’t be calling for anyone’s head on a plate or wanting to show the majority of the playing staff the nearest exit.
At the start of the season the bookies had us second or third favourites to go straight back up, frankly I’d listen to their opinion well before yours or anyone else’s (including mine) as they have no emotional baggage involved.
I admire you for sticking your neck out so early in the proceedings but you can’t expect too many plaudits when it doesn’t go the way you expected it to ( I won’t say hoped, I think you really are a fan of the club, but you must admit some of your comments would make others think otherwise)
There’s also no shame, dishonour or humiliation in admitting you’re mistaken unless of course you happen to be in politics

 

Thread bumping is for arseholes. Things change. Remember when we were in danger of getting into the Championship playoffs? Did anyone think we were going to get relegated just a short time later? Shall we bump some threads from back then?

 

Yeah. You do my head in most of the time Conan, you're quite confrontational and abrasive, but you do actually talk about things that need to be said sometimes, often when noone else is doing.

You were wrong here, but bugger me it doesn't need pointing out again and again, it's just point scoring for t'sake.

Well, I must say that when I saw you had quoted my post I was expecting a completely different response.

I'd like to think I'm not abrasive without a bit provocation for the most part. Often I might come across that way but I don't intend to, but with some posters I definitely do.
