Either that or one less team is relegated. They've managed to sneak out of 5 winding up petitions in 2 years though.
I'm guessing someone will save them last minute/or they twill get a a stay of execution pending a new deal, it always seems to be the case - the league clubs don't seem to go bust in the end. Didn't though a smaller non-league club go bust in the last week though?
No. If we finish third, the fifth placed team are automatically promoted (If they are from London). At least that’s what the rules were in 1919. I really must get over this.
Before anyone says they feel sorry for the fans....they can start a new club in non league under a slightly different name just like Chester had to and rise back up to their natural level.
Not sure really if only two went down that would leave league one short so somewhere down the pyramid you have to sort that out.
Likely they'll be given a stay of execution until the end of the season in the hope they're relegated anyway and then the Championship is unaffected. Likely be one less relegation from League One to League Two then. They'll be saved somehow though. They always are.
Bolton have managed to get 29 points so far out of 38 games which in a normal season is relegation form. If they do go out of business and fold, the first thing that might happen is that any points that their opponents have managed to take from them, could possibly be expunged, which could have an effect on the promotion / relegation prospects of some Clubs. Regarding their possible demotion, they currently lie in the next to bottom place anyway, eight points adrift of Reading and Millwall so the FA might do what GC and M have already said and limit the relegation places , between Ipswich Town, Rotherham United, Reading, Millwall or Wigan Athletic.
Yes North Ferriby United - nothing that couldnt have been sorted by a couple of hours wages from a Prem footballer or a tiny fraction of the leaving present to Scudamore. Wound up with debts of just under £8,000 https://northferribyunited.com/rip-north-ferriby-united-n
They will just brush it under carpet and magic up some money from somewhere and every body just forgets about it like the previous 100 times its happened to some club or other. Fooball the most corrupt institution in the world......
Yes that’s my thoughts. We can’t have a club idle over a weekend because of odd numbers in a league. Realignment would start in the lower leagues and work up. Fingers crossed that Bolton Wanderers go out of business.
Given that they should have gone down last season I think the extra place should go to a leaguest 1 club but it wonto happen.
