A Swiss player collided with clash of heads. Was unconscious with his tongue down his throat Geogia player pulled it up and he revived. Then carried on playing after further treatment. What the hell does that say when Moore is out for season as a precaution by specialist Football is the worst sport for inconsistency, not saying Moore should be playing but how come that guy was allowed to carry on ???
I was clearing out my loft earlier when my old set of bongos fell through the hatch and knocked me clean out. Went to A&E and it turns out I have mild percussion. (Lame joke. Apologies)
I'm glad that Kieffer is being rested as a precaution and that is absolutely the right thing to do, however someone getting knocked out on the pitch like you have reported should be a mandatory sub IMO.
On sky sports his conversation with Prutton contradicted alot of what I was lead to believe. What was cut and dried had a tinge of ambiguity.
His interview lead to believe he was going to be assessed again before the end of the season and he’s already back training. Obviously he can’t say there’s a slim possibility he may be able to play but that’s probably the reality.
I’m very surprised that he carried on. Last week Napoli keeper Ospina took a blow to the head but carried on only to collapse later on in the game. I would say caution is always needed with head injuries.
Knocked out isn't the same as a concussion, though. IMO, after a head injury a player should be taken off the pitch (with a temporary substitute brought on) and checked out by a doctor. This will ensure that there's no rushing, as the team won't be a man down.
Spot on. Concussion symptoms can also occur several days after an accident etc, sometimes the injury isn't obvious. Rugby Union introduced something along these lines a few years back now. I'm not sure how far down the structure it applies, but I was fortunate to work with the medical team at the 2015 Rugby World Cup. They use Hawkeye from 16-32 TV camera feeds and can review a collision between players whilst play continues and where it works is that the TV Medical Officer can order a player to leave the field of play for a very specific head injury assessment. No one can challenge the docs authority (Mourinho v Carneiro for example). It all originated from the Mike Webster NFL evidence, and the RFU would admit their care of head injured players was poor up until recent years. Football has a long way to go with its duty of care, but its heading the right way. I think Moore has had his wellbeing put first and rightly so.
That's just it he was asked how he felt about being out for rest of season n' said he's seen consultant and is back in full training. Prutton asked him if was going to be back n' he said he's seeing consultant again in three weeks. He said protocols are protocols better be safe than sorry. You help but think he's not in agreement with professionals n' wants to be back playing. It was an awkward few minutes to be honest mate.
I once suffered concussion at school laikin footie. Still carried on with lessons. Trying to do maths with little purple dots floating in your eyes is not the best experience.
So best case Scenario we might be seeing him on the team sheet against Shrewsbury on 18th April then.
