Don’t like this. At all. The ‘premium’ membership which is £15 gets you 20 extra loyalty points. Going to one away game gets you 1. That means that the people getting first access to away tickets are virtually always going to be those who’ve paid the extra 15 quid. That’s not how it should be.

Going to Portsmouth on a Tuesday night would get you more than 1 though.

You’re right, the club should reward those that only give money to other clubs, not those that give extra to our club.

Maybe it would get you a magical 2. Or even 3! Which still wouldn’t be enough of a dent in that 20.

This is the only thing I don't get about this, why does going to away games which is a significant expense and use of time only earn you 1/20th of what paying the club £15 in April does

Come off it. Football isn’t about paying £15 extra just so you can be sure of following your club everywhere. Fans attending matches, whether home or away, to support Barnsley is something that our football club should be encouraging to the greatest extent possible. Rewarding those who go to all the matches less than those who have a spare £15 to throw away is not accomplishing that.

I doubt it will matter anyway, it’s Barnsley, most wallets will be glued shut.

But hasn’t this always been the issue?

This season I haven’t got a season ticket but I’ve been to 11 away games, for Bristol I’ll be behind someone who has a season ticket but may not have been to as many away games. Btw I’ve been to majority of home games too, it would’ve been more beneficial for me to get a season ticket really.

End of the day its a monetary thing and most clubs will prioritise stable income in the form of season tickets than they will people like you who attend regularly but don't buy a season ticket its not just something up with us its with all of english football

Totally agree, I will be getting a season ticket next season but this season I’ve had a few games in the hospitality suites, and a few things planned some Saturdays so at the start of the season it didnt seem beneficial to get one, plus I genuinely prefer away games.

My point was, prioritising away tickets has always been an issue and some people won’t be happy with whatever decision the club makes, ie myself this season.

I spend a lot of money following the reds up and down the country, and I love doing it. Now I'm being charged £15 by our own club to make sure I can do that. I don't like that I feel like I'm being taken advantage of, fact is I'll still pay it and that's why I don't like it.

They mention one point maybe not being enough for a Tuesday night away game, but how can it be fair? Are they going to be fair by basing loyalty points on the difference in miles between your home postcode and that of the ground visited?

Hardly fair if for example next season we have a night match away at QPR and someone going to it from Barnsley get the same loyalty points as a fan going to the game that's based down south.

When it comes to points they only apply to away tickets anyway. Anyone with a season ticket will be able to reserve their own seat.

Jaysus, if they announced admission was going to be free there'd be folk wanting their bus tickets reimbursed.

You're talking as if this is something really generous. I can't see how it's going to benefit me at all, unless there's something more to the bottom package than meets the eye. You give them £25, then pay for 6 games at full price, before getting a 7th supposedly free...except how can it be free, you've given them £25 for it.

But why didn’t they just tell us rather than us having to guess?
