Whilst I’ll admit we were lucky last week at Walsall, yesterday Coventry scored 2 goals which in some essence were rather fortunate let’s be honest, however I thought they looked a decent team who were willing to throw men forward and looked threatening in the dying minutes. Everyone’s having a break down that we’ve now ****** things up but unless I’ve missed something we’re still second with a good GD, not lost in nearly 4 month, kept god knows how many clean sheets in the last month or two and a creating chances galore which will start to turn to goals, don’t shoot don’t score is the best footballing philosophy you’ll here. Here’s to a good day celebrating Mother’s Day . I’m off for a boiled egg and a nice hot bath in order for today’s festivities. Have a lovely day. Judith X
Too much praise is lavished on the unbeaten record, when we've drawn far too many in that time, so would have been better off losing a few but winning a few more. It's been ages since we've put in a full 90 minutes good performance of high intensity pressing, that we are known for. The performances of early season with regularly scoring three or four goals is a long time ago now. Goals are drying up as our shooting is terrible. For our opener yesterday we got close enough to the goal that a tap in couldn't be missed. Of course we should be worried that things aren't as good as they were in the first half of the season performances wise. Fingers crossed Sunderland don't win in mid week and then yesterday won't seem so bad.
Agree massively about the unbeaten record. We have draw 5 of our last 8 and really should have been 6. That's not good enough we have 6 games left and if we continue at that rate we will miss out. The decision not add another striker to the squad in August was confusing the decision not to do in January was baffling. We are now paying the price for that.
Our shooting's been pretty terrible all season - we just got away with it when we were registering 20+ shots per game.
FK me anybody would think we were second BOTTOM with a ***** goal difference to read some of the replies and other posts today. We are missing one of our main strikers, we have lost other key players for long periods also, it was never going to be easy!
Truth be told we've over achieved with such a young squad and now expect to steam roller every team but they want to win as much as us!
It wasn't so bad early season but we've only scored more than two goals in two of our last thirteen games. The high pressing, high energy way of playing has caught up on the players.
Donny at home and yesterday Davies made great saves at the death which could have meant two less points.
I thought Coventry are only second to Donny on good oppositions at Oakwell. When Sunderland and Pompey were floundering a bit we were going strong, but we are having a bit of a bad spell result and performance wise, although Performance was much improved yesterday. We are still picking points up I know but a team around the top of the league should be getting 3 points a game. Lets hope this changes immediately.
Weve been incredibley unlucky with injuries and especially the one to big Keef. Him and Cauley were scoring for giggles up until he got injured. Yes we should have thought about the possibility of an injury occuring to one of them but in true barnsley style we went for the cheap option, which could end up biting us on the arse.
Including today Sundeland have 10 games to play in 34 days not going to be easy . Hard to plan for injuries current playing squad have not let anybody down it has been a good season.
