Could be charged by the FA for comments made about the officials after the Chelsea game. I thought he was spot on in his assessment and had every right to speak out. We witness ***** refs and assistants week in week out and it's about time VAR was brought in at all professional levels to stop the injustice that majorly favours the so called bigger clubs. The 4th officials would be more use watching on a screen and helping the man in the middle instead of standing between 2 dugouts getting berated from both sides for decisions over which he has no control. I have never been a fan of Neil, if he had shown as much heart when he played for us as he does when defending his usually boring sides pushing gamesmanship to the limit then I might have taken to him a little more but this season I think he has had every right to complain and I can't help but admire his passion and professionalism.
He didn't exactly say anything bad or wrong though did he? Harsh if he's done for that (based on what I saw on MOTD).
To quote Jason Bent "yeah i believe referees have got an impossible job, thats the only reason i can think as to why theyre so sh*t at it". I firmly think referees and othe officials should be dismissed from the job if found incompetent.
I know someone who refs at a pretty decent level and have been to a lot of his matches. The first thing that struck me when I started watching him is that you see the game from a totally different perspective as a neutral. He's pretty good at his job so doesn't get much hassle, but sometimes it's absolute dogs abuse and for £80ish a match, sometimes having to take half a day off work to travel to some unearthly places on a **** cold rainy Tuesday night .. He's 23 and hoping to make it to the top but I can understand why so many refs throw it in . The mistake at Cardiff was a right balls up but we all make them, players included .
it was not the ref at fault for me, it was the linesman...totally in line with the play and could not see a total offside.
Agree with all of whats said. 1. Yes, referees and linesman have a thankless task 2. Yes it was a complete balls up for the goal that should have been offside but it wasn't the only bad call and yet again they seem to favour the big side. 3. Yes, Neil warnock had every right to be bouncing off the wall with fury. You work all week on your game plan and the ref comes in and steals the game. 4. VAR has its faults, god knows, but it needs to come in to remove the bias above. They were robbed of at least 1 point and it could relegate them. Its a big deal.
He wasn't complaining when Brighton had a goal disallowed against Cardiff earlier in the season. "Sometimes you get them decisions, sometimes you don't". That's what he said.
I rarely, if ever, agree with Warnock but on this occasion I do. That decision was beyond shocking in fact it was so obviously offside you have to wonder if the linesman really did see it but bottled raising his flag.
Must admit I bloody love it- love it when Colin gets pissed off. His face last season at the Wolves match was quality.
It was a shocking way to lose a game of football if the incident had gone against a top cluib the response of the FA would have been interesting matbe the officials would have been suspended. . Hard to think any manager would have said nothing after yesterdays poor decision any punishment of Warnock just adds insult to injury.
"Battle of Bramall Lane" .He's lucky he's still being allowed to manage after that game with West Brom.
My apologies. I amend it thus: "Pay for Sala - you horrible Wales-based tossers." That better for you, sausage?
I think back to my only trip to Ninian Park and the FA Cup semi and I remember how much I detest Cardiff City. Hope they go down.
It was a bad decision by the officials, I just feel that Cardiff and their coach's tactics are the main reason, they have struggled....not one bad call by the ref. Thought they were (ahem) professional last season but..... Christ horrible, out dated tactics, just got away with it at championship level, not in the big time.
