So fu(king what....a man (alledgedly) who has spent his adultish life under the media spotlight knows the score...***** excuse for any misbehaviour. Part of being in his profession is being open to being filmed....ordinary man in the street gets a camera shoved in his face ...then that is a defence...not here.
I didn't say he wasn't as far as I can remember. Alan Crawford from Castleford said on radio Sheffield that he thought it was an issue. I haven't a clue. I do know that physically assaulting someone that films you whilst doing their job isn't self defence. Not in anyone's world.
If I'm irked by someone does that give me the right to assault them? You haven't answered the question, how is it self defence to shove someone in the back? I get that no one has the full facts. Neither do you.
Yet unless Stendel (or others) either had hold of him or was physically threatening him with menace he can’t prove it beyond doubt. And if any of the above happened there would be evidence to show including witnesses, which then it would not need proving
Why the he'll does it matter if he didn't like being filmed he chased DS down the tunnel and from behind pushed him head first into metal work it was a cowardly act of assault and as such no self respecting fan of BFC should seek to defend the horrible coward. If DS had died Barton would be deservedly looking at a murder charge. The FA and courts need to throw the book at him.
Does the terms and conditions of entry not apply to football managers then I’m sure we have Ground Regulations and I bet they include they include being filmed/taken photos of. Can we ban him from Oakwell?
When whitey walks out of the tunnel friday afternoon i expect to hear this blasting from the tannoy system.
Ha ha ha......he doesn't like being filmed? He's spent his football career courting interviews, books and radio appearances. Even when he has nothing to say.....he has plenty to say! Also, if Fleetwood had nothing to hide, why were their staff putting their hands over the sky cameras, as he made a hasty back door exit (sneaking off in his directors car). They ALL knew exactly what the craic was for me....throw the book at em, massive fine ban etc etc.
This is such a weak argument. Being irked or provoked by something doesn't give a person the right to be violent. Such an argument would never be used in a court of law to argue innocence. It's actually admitting guilt. The only time it would ever be used in court would be to argue fir a lesser sentence, manslaughter instead of premeditated murder for example. Now please stop blaming a BFC employee, who many on this forum know, for inciting violence when he was simply doing his job. It has been alleged that Joey Barton assaulted our manager. I don't know if that allegation is true or not as I wasn't there. I don't know any of the particulars. But I do know that a football manager being filmed while working as a football manager at a football stadium by the media department of the opposition club is not an excuse for violent behaviour, either morally or legally, and to suggest it could be used to prove innocence is utter nonsense.
On that basis, if one of my kids had waved a knife at me whilst getting their story out at the dinner table, could I have justifiably punched them in the eye?
If you could conclusively prove (whatever that means) that they were upset at you giving them sausages and not fish fingers, it seems so.
Mr Barton you are charged with assault, how do you plead? Not guilty, I was annoyed about something. Oh, why didn't you say. We thought you did it when you were calm. But if you were annoyed that's perfectly fine. Case dismissed
I think that BFC and DS have handled the situation in a very professional manner - not got involved in any slanging match with Fleetwood via the media and just given a brief press statement so far. The professional way in which both club and manager have handled this should not be seen as weakness by the authorities and the matter should be swiftly and effectively dealt with, starting with action by the Football League and especially as FTFC has taken no action regarding the allegations.
The only way that could possibly count as an excuse is if Stendel was filming him right at that moment and he wanted him to stop and move away. A completely different person filming him as part of his job, 5 minutes before, in a different area of the ground isn’t an excuse to allegedly push someone else from behind into a metal post and knock their teeth out.
