The BBC article is a wee bit puzzling to me, as it infers that a different party aside of Daniel and Barton could be involved. ! It will all become crystal clear in the fullness of time, but for me, the statement doesn't give positive clarity as to who was arrested. How does anyone else see it.?
Well the Sun sees it as Joey Barton if you look at the headlines. The exact specifics will come out over time but it looks as though Fleetwood may well be manager les in the not too distant future..
I don't get that inference at all from reading it. It just says 'a man' so it could be any male, including (and probably!) Joey Barton
I agree, it suggests that another man apart from JB and DS was involved and arrested but I think the statement is written in that way to 'hide' the fact that one of the men is JB or DS. Similarly they're not giving age of the man arrested as he would then be identifiable. I guess it will be a couple of months before this case is sent to the CPS for a decision as to whether or not it goes to court. (not sure if it's a magistrate's court or a court with a jury.) My hunch - and I hope I'm wrong - is that because of this Stendel will move on at the end of the season -
If DS has told the police he was assaulted by JB it would be odd to arrest someone else the day that JB was due to voluntarily attend a police station. As no one else has said they were injured who else can claim racially aggravated assault?
Because this is the only place such a thing could possibly happen to him? Think that’s an over dramatic stretch
They won’t be naming Barton because they will be fearful of being sued / generating publicity which could impact on a trial I imagine and therefore playing it safe. It’s loads easier to just say a man was released on bail.
