Dean Hoyle had a bout of pancreatitis apparently. My wife was a Nurse on the Gastro Ward in Wakefield and tells me, the condition is caused by inflammation to the pancreas. There are two types, acute and chronic and neither is very pleasant. If it's not treated early, I'm told it can easily turn into a life threatening condition although the recovery rates in the UK are quite good. He's doing right as far as I'm concerned, because nothing is more important than your family and your health. Good luck to him, he's done Huddersfield proud in the ten years he's been at the Club.
It was light hearted, slap stick humour. No need for a public flogging. Granted anything pancreatic can **** you up big style. I'll take it in spirit it was meant though.
I wonder if Tonge is being groomed as the next in line. Another good season and Stenedel's stock is going to be very high. I like the look of Stern but he's very young to be manager materal just yet and likely to follow Stendel on his next move.
Your right SD. It's sadly a quite common ailment and I'm told, one of the most common ways to suffer from it, is through the over indulgence of alcohol. It's apparently agonisingly painful. My wife who worked at Pinderfields was on a night shift one time and she'd forgotten to take her specs with her. She phoned me and I jumped in my car and took them to the Gastro Ward for her. The nurse who opened the Ward door to let me in, took me down to where my Mrs was. I can honestly say, I was gobsmacked at the number of relatively young men laid in bed connected to drips etc, all of whom were as yellow as a marigold. A bloke who had just been admitted, was on a trolley waiting for a bed. He was shouting out loud with pain. Turned out he had pancreatitis. The next phase after that if you don't limit the booze can apparently be cirrhosis of the liver which usually means " goodnight Vienna". Having seen what I saw that night, certainly motivated me to think about my drinking and I managed to cut it back by only having " a few " at weekends.
If they were yellow then that's jaundice as a result of liver cirrhosis. Once people are at that stage they can come back from it, but odds are against them. Not everyone who experiences pancreatitis has alcohol problems, could be gallstones.
Nowt confidential about it WOTS. He's openly disclosed it in the Huddersfield Examiner, Yorkshire Post and other newspapers. I think he genuinely has been a fan first and an owner second as is the new owner Phil Hodgkinson, who is currently a director of Conference North outfit Southport. Hoyle is retaining a small share, so he can still have some influence. Reading between the lines, he is gutted he's selling, but as I've said previously, your health and your loved ones should be your paramount considerations. https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spo...-huddersfield-town-owner-dean-hoyle-1-9749370
Thanks for that TM. Didn't go into detail cos I'm a bit squeamish. Nearly keeled watching Ambulance tother night re- the Stoma bag incident. To her credit, my Mrs and her co-workers never ever discussed what was happening on the Ward. One sign that things had been tough was when after eating the meal I'd prepared for her when she got home following "afters " once, was when she just burst into tears. It could have been my culinary delights that caused that, but I'd guess that it was more to do with some awful event in PH, that afternoon.
I was just concerned that anyone reading it would assume that he had an alcohol problem and that's perhaps unfair. As far as I'm aware he hasn't. He developed pancreatitis due to complications following gallstones removal surgery.
I was thinking that I hope Daniel stays long enough for Tonge to feel confident in carrying on his football philosophy, Not 100 percent certain Chris would follow Daniel, it doesn't always work out and sometimes you're better off striking out on your own.
I'm hoping that too. There's no doubt that a fairly untroubled season in the Championship will have him on a lot of clubs' radars. I'd hope the owners have shown him a path that would allow him to stay here for a few years and make substantial progress. If they don't or haven't he will be off sooner rather than later I'm afraid. As would any of us.
