Yep, superb effort this season by both them and us. Delighted that we've both gone up and left Sunderland and Pompey to slog it out in the play offs.
That's good of him to be so honest. They've done very well and it's timely for them as they have secured planning permission to start building their new Stadium. The mock ups look quite impressive. https://www.lutontown.co.uk/news/2019/january/power-court-approved/
Best team over 46 games, table doesn’t lie. I’d have loved to have won the league but they thoroughly deserve it.
Very generous of you all, nice to win the title but going up is the main thing. Just bloody glad not to be in the awful play offs and a good couple of extra weeks to sort out future contracts, put in offers for new players etc. Good luck Charlton, Sunderland, Portsmouh and Doncaster fans - rather you than us. As the EFL team of the season showed you had five players in it to two Luton players - probably right. However as a team I have never seen one at Luton as organised and perfectly complemented, had a great balance of toughness, skill creativity and everyone very decent in their own right. Rumour has it Collins is off and likely a couple more who could go straight to the premiership. Onto next season, will be very tough for us and maybe you but a nice summer to enjoy first. Enjoy it and see you next season
Said all along Luton would fall away. I was certain I'd be proven correct. They didn't and I wasn't: fair play Luton and well done.
There is a certain irony in the fact that the three goals Luton Town scored yesterday to clinch the title, came from two former Barnsley players re- George Moncur (2) and Elliott Lee (1). Luton also look to be building strong foundations for the future as well .They enter their Junior teams into International Cup competitions and their U8's have recently walloped Juventus 6-1 in Dortmund to win their Cup, whilst the U9's are in the Semi-final of their competition which is being held in Poland, after they beat Barcelona U9's. As we are aware, the benefits that these Academy teams can add to Clubs like us and Luton, can't be discounted, as ther first team defender James Justin was one such prospect that emerged from his inclusion in the Clubs Development squads and European tours that the current crop of young players are similarly involved in at this present time. Good luck and congratulations to Luton Town on their elevation to the Championship.
Spot on mate. Went in front, Luton went 2 up and we were down to 10 men for half a game. Nowt to be made of yesterday's game. It turned out just to be a formality. Had we needed to win yesterday, I'm sure we would have seen a different performance.
Agree with that assessment, we’ve got better individuals but you’ve been a better team and deserve the title. We can now watch the play offs on the tele and enjoy them.
Definitely deserved title winners. When they were on form they regularly put teams away and got second and third goal, which we struggled with in Moore’s absence, which is shown in their GD. They also waited till they already had 90+ points before having a so called blip, meaning they’d already done the hard work. Still a great season for us mind, and reacting to the Burton defeat with 4 wins in 4 must win games was some feat.
