Absolutely brilliant and bloody funny. To see a side talked up so much fail in such spectacular fashion two years in a row is a joy. Barca are no more than the Spanish version of PSG that despite being filled with 'stars' they struggle facing teams in other countries. Suarez is still a scouser at heart for injurying a player so his replace could come on and score a brace. They only look as good as they do because of Messi who manages to lift other players. They lack world class players, but Messi helps their cause massively. Keep him quiet and you're halfway there. Barcelona are going to need a plan for whenever Messi retires or starts going downhill.
Smartest piece of play you're going to see, by him, for the killer goal. He'll be forever remembered for that. Rightly so.
Internationals aside, that's the first time in decades that I've watched a full 90 minutes of a game that didn't feature us. Terrific to watch as a neutral, but I don't envy the fans of either side, cos that must have been an emotional nightmare.
ITV used to own the rights to show the highlights of all European games, but tonight the game was shown live on BT Sports, so I would think they now hold that licence.
What are we going to do for these next few months without this wonderful sport we all follow. The excitement seems to be topped every week now. If England win the nations league I don’t think I’d be able to cope.
Yes brilliant thinking I did wonder if some part of it was planned with the other ball looking as if it may come on to the pitch Either way, very clever play.
That corner routine was outstanding. Amazing game. Well done Liverpool. Hope they win it. If Man City somehow screw up this weekend it could be a hell of a week in the history of Liverpool FC.
For me, Liverpools victory in front of their own devotees tonight was all the more remarkable because it was achieved without arguably two of their most influential players in Firmino and Salah. I'm sure they are hoping that they can get them fit for their last game at Anfield against Wolves and hope that Brighton and Hove Albion can do them a favour at the Amex when they play Man City. The latter have looked a bit " twitchy" in their last couple of games, but it's perhaps a big ask to expect the Seagulls to turn City over, but as we know, stranger things have happened.
Hope not otherwise we'll never hear the ******* end of it. Be a film about Kevin from Bootles seasons expliolts and a further documentary about that Allez Allez song and how Scouse wit and brilliance is the cornerstone of Uk fan chants in 2019.
