Does anybody know if there were any clauses in the deals that took them to Villa that we got any additional money should they get promoted to the Premier league?
I would hope every single player we've sold has clauses. I am already expecting us to get a lot of money off Luton and some more off Portsmouth for Isgrove if they get up.
For Isgrove?!?! He was on loan. He's not even there anymore. Think you're being a bit optimistic there!
Could see Bree moving before long, but it will hardly be a windfall. Can't see the Moncur deal paying out for promotion, given where they were in the table in January.
I’d be looking at bringing Bree back. Still young with plenty of potential, he’s just lost his way a little.
If he can stay injury free he'd be a right signing. Reckon he'd probably come too, especially if Villa contribute towards his wages for the remainder of his contract with them.
Bree won’t be coming back. Not permanently anyway as he’s allegedly on around £20k a week with 2 & a half years remaining on his deal & we only seem to do loans if there’s an option to buy. Hourihane will be a key player in the squad if they go up
You were watching a different James Bree to me in that case. OK, he got caught out at the back from time to time, but he was 18. That sort of positional play can be taught. His crossing is as good as anyone's I've seen in a Barnsley shirt including Barnard. Lots of lovely balls into the box for Moore and Woodrow to get on the end of. I'll have a bit of that!

Was chatting to a Villa supporting mate the other night via Facebook, basically wishing them luck for today and saying that I hope we had promotion bonus's in place for Hourihane and Bree and his response was that we'd be welcome to have Bree back. I'm guessing that he's not pulled up many trees whilst at Villa. Turned down Man Utd to stay with us as he'd get more opportunities at first team football, so maybe he'd consider taking a pay cut to rejoin if he feels his career is starting to stagnate, in the knowledge that he's got some decent money in his account.
