Quick update: Currently having a rest day with some black sheep in Masham (pronounced Massum). Tomorrow I've a high level 25 mile 2 day walk to West Burton, over Little Whernside, Great Whernside and Buckden Pike, with a wild camp somewhere in the middle. 304 miles done, 222 miles to go, fantastic experience!
Must have missed this post somehow. Hope you continue to have a great time. Wish i was seeing all the scenery and such. Have made a little donation for the cause. Well done!
West Burton is a lovely little village. Pub by the green is run by a football fan. Blackpool is his club if I remember correctly.
Thank you, it's just come through. If you're interested, there's a live updating link here, showing my current location on a map. It's subject to me having a decent internet connection of course. The blue bit is what I've done, the brown bit is still to do. If you're not interested, the link is nevertheless still there https://www.wildyorkshireway.co.uk/mapdisplay.php
how's the fundraising total going Stahlrost? and more importantly where are you getting a wesh a having number two's?
Fundraising total is here, brilliant so far https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ianwildyorkshireway As far as number twos are concerned, I'm burning so many calories that I've not needed one yet. I'll have one when I get back, last week in May or thereabouts. Washing is easy, I just find the nearest sheep dip.
Blackpool was spot on. A fine pub...moved on though, currently in the George and Dragon in Aysgarth for tonight, another great Dales pub. 331 miles done, just 195 to go!
Someone ought to inform Look North or Calendar regarding Stahlrost's walk hopefully to fill the coffers of a brilliant voluntary service.
Indeed I was, although there's been no contact since. I'm expecting a brass band and an open top bus through Dodeth when I finally get back.
