If Potter is successful in landing the Brighton job. Am I the only one that is concerned Swansea may look to Daniel as the lead candidate to replace him?

I think that there is going to be other clubs looking at our Boss
It is up to our club to say NO and pay him what they want to pay him
If we have wealth as it has been said then it is of no use if we cannot compete to keep our coach
That is assuming Our Boss wants to stay. His option really

Life's too short to worry about football. He will go sooner or later (sacked or leave for a better job), and same with all the players so you're best just enjoying the good times whilst they're here.

I don't think Swansea will want him, but someone at some point will. It depends if our views have changed since the Lee Johnson days.......

    https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/2016/february/club-statement-lee-johnson/

We made it sound like because we'd changed to having a head coach rather than a manager, that it didn't particularly matter who was in that role because it's just one part of the bigger picture. I think we should worry until the majority of Stendel, Davies, Pinnock and Lindsay are announced as under new 3-4 year contracts.

Players contracts are one thing but coach/manager contracts are another. They’re not worth a jot as Hecky demonstrated. However I would like like to think that Stendel is more principled than that and would honour a new contract. The trick will be to get him to sign one

Id be surprised if he went b4 having a crack at championship with us. Would take an offer from a decent german club to tempt him away at this stage. Never kno we might loose our 1st 10 games and he will get sack haha!!

I'm a born pessimist, but I tend to feel Daniel will probably do a year with Barnsley in the Championship and at that point may well want to go back and find a club in Germany - must be tough being away from his family.

'Whom' is catching on, whilst 'whilst' passes most folk by. Including the 8 year old who writes the freeview previews..:)

Whilst reading this thread I’ve arrived at the conclusion that I concur with those who feel we’ll at least get next season out of Daniel

Maybe he is different and has bought into "the plan".
He may want to see out the job here and prove a few people wrong.
This board gave him his chance remember.
Hopefully he is a man of values and loyalty!

Not everyone chases the $ and he is only one step away from the top tier now.

Me too. What's the point of all the academy doing things his way if he's going to disappear so soon. His children are older than I thought so probably not far off from living their own lives at which point he presumably will feel he can go anywhere in the world and no doubt his wife would feel happy to go with him. One thing I do know is he s very ambitious. He s done marvels for us but I think he needs to prove himself in the championship before the really tempting offers come in.

I think if he has a good season with us he’ll be head hunted and be off, if the unthinkable happens and we go straight back down as predicted by the bookies I think he’ll be sacked. Either way living away from his family isnt sustainable in the long term

The academy will continue to play his style of football, as he was only recruited because of his style of football. Whomever eventually replaces him will presumably also play the same style of football.

personally I think ( and HOPE) that his relative inexperience in management, certainly in England, it certainly didn't work out for his mate at Huddersfield would put off most clubs. However if I was in a position of power at Oakwell I would certainly be moving to secure his services and discourage other suitors because of the compensation that would then be involved.

I use whilst quite a lot. While I'm on this forum I try to remain the semantic warrior. Whilst this might not go down well with everyone, it keeps me smug and warm.

    He
Two main names on their shortlist apparently. Second favourite at 6/1 is their former boss Gary
Monk and the 15/8 favourite is Cameron Toshack, son of former Liverpool and Real Madrid
player John and a former Swans boss. Chris Coleman was on the list but is now a 12/1 shot.
