    ......so what’s he like then?

Before I get a chance to take a look at him when I travel to Croatia & Hungary, thought I’d ask for info from the guys who see him week in, week out - as I’ve not really seen him play. Seen him scoring a few goals for you in your fantastic season but that’s about it.

We’re a young squad, with Giggs really embracing the youngsters so I guess he fits that model.

    Opinions?

Scores for fun but can be frustrating at times as he misses quite a few sitters... which makes the number of goals he has scored even more remarkable. Quite fast for how tall he is and wins a lot of headers as you would imagine.

Agree with JamDrop that's a good summary of him not only does he have pace for a big man but he is very mobile too and will drag his markers out of position. We missed his movement nearly as much as his goals when he was out.

Would be nice to just have a centre forward tbh, even a sitter-missing one, we’ve played for years without one lol.

All the players Giggs has brought in seem to have pace to burn, which is nice.

Hello mate. Long time no see, welcome back!

Brilliant at League 1 level, a real pain to defend against. Gets in some great positions but sometimes misses some extremely easy chances. Seems to need 4 or 5 clear cut opportunities per goal. He was hardly prolific at Championship level a couple of years ago, but was in a poor team, managed by a complete buffoon. Fingers crossed he finally steps up next season, although he may turn out to be one of those strikers who is prolific in the lower leagues, but can't seem to find the net in the higher divisions. I guess a year from now, all will be clear.

On the evidence we've seen so far, he'll quite possibly bag a good few goals against Lithuania, Kazakhstan and Scotland, but I wouldn't fancy him getting much of a sniff against Germany or France.

Sounds quite interesting tbh. If his pace & movement can distract defenders then it gives the likes of Gareth Bale more scope to exploit the spaces.

I’m sure he’d enjoy playing with the likes of Bale as well - which can’t be a bad thing for you guys.

Hopefully Bale will enjoy playing with Kieffer so much that he'll consider a move to Oakwell once his Real Madrid contract is up.

Lol, I’m still clinging to the hope that Madrid will be happy enough if we pay say £10k/week and have him on loan at Cardiff lol. He’s here every other weekend anyway so fingers crossed.

Bale is on £600,000 per week at Real and Zidane has recently told him he does not feature in his future plans,
so he is free to find another Club. Former Club Spurs are interested, but have said the wages
he would demand means that they couldn't afford him, so if Vincent will dig really deep, he could be all yours Bluebird.

As for Kieffer. Giggsy must be confident that if he can get him the right type of service into the box,
he'll be hoping that he can do the business for him. He seems a genuine lad and really deserves his chance.

I wouldn’t describe him as having a lot of pace tbh, though he is quite mobile for a big lad and gets about well. Obviously a solid physical presence and wins everything in the air. Not sure European refs would take to him too much.

Plays better with a strike partner so you could do with another centre forward to go with him. Bradshaw when he’s fit I suppose.

I think the main thing you need to know is he’s not Welsh, and while ever your country continues with using players that are not the correct nationality to represent you, you’re making a mockery of international sport.

    Grow up.

Plainly ridiculous thing to say. He’s entitled to play within the rules laid out by FIFA. His grandad was born in Wales. He’s therefore more welsh than Darren Barnard was, he qualified on that bizarre U.K. forces personnel rule. As did Maik Taylor for Northern Ireland.

Wales are hardly alone are they? And it’s certainly not new.

John Barnes isn’t and wasn’t English. Raheem Sterling isn’t really. Owen Hargreaves had never played or even lived in England when he was first capped. Tony Dorigo, there’s countless others. Eric Dier has only just started speaking English in an English accent though he is actually English born and bred, just grew up in Portugal.

Patrick Vieira wasn’t French, Deco wasn’t Portuguese, and I’m more Spanish than Diego Costa. Ireland search all over for players who’s parents (and later grandparents when the rules changed) had been born anywhere on the island of Ireland (as anyone from Northern Ireland can play for the republic if they choose to). And that is only football.

The England rugby side has had players from all over the world be naturalised to play.

Dare I mention cricket? Non-English players have turned out for England dating back to at least the seventies with Tony Greig, and there have been dozens of players from the West Indies, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia be selected for England. At one point I think the side genuinely had more South Africans in it than English born players.

The record cap holder and record number of appearances as captain for the England one day team isn’t remotely English and was a full one day international for another country prior to switching allegiance - from a country which is actually now a test playing nation.

    Linford Christie isn’t really British.

Wales are making a mockery of nothing. They are doing the best they can following the rules that everybody else does.

International sport is dead, it’s about time it was scraped, every country has contributed to its downfall not just Wales, the authorities and governing bodies of sports are to blame more than anyone, but don’t tell me Wales aren’t making a mockery of international sport because they well and truly are. International sport is pointless now, being allowed to pick and choose who you represent is absolutely ridiculous, it should be determined by birth place not who you good enough to play for.

So what if you're born in a country and then move before you turn 1, for example? If I was born in Scotland but had English parents/grandparents and lived my whole life in England, I'd count myself as English. Wouldn't you?

You speak as though it’s any different now to how it has been in the past. None of this is new. Also, if you qualify to represent more than one country why should you be restricted to only the one you happened to be born in? Terry Butcher has English parents and grew up in England from a young age, but was born in Singapore when his dad was stationed there. We won’t agree on this, that’s fair enough.

I’m certainly glad that a lot of people don’t agree with your viewpoint, as other than football, my main interest in a lot of other sports is at international level. Rugby, cricket, anything at all in the Olympics!

If Jofra Archer takes the winning wicket in this year’s World Cup, I won’t be too concerned that he was born in Barbados, nor that the captain is Irish.

    Each to their own.

Bo****ks, or as they say in Wales 'bolycs'

To be born Welsh is to be born privileged
Not with a silver spoon in your mouth
But with music in your blood
    And poetry in your soul.
