Looks as though he's all but gone.

What a quality keeper and deserves his move

Money I would guess. More prestigious than us in the eyes of Wales too I would imagine.

I've always thought of stoke as similar to us.

Would suspect Stoke is about best he can get where he has a realistic chance of being first choice(if Butland leaves), higher pay and reasonable level of exposure for his goals of being Wales no1.

Good luck getting a start ahead of Jack Butland and Adam Federici... 2 quality keepers! Better staying here and getting game time.

If it's gonna happen we should all thank him for the service he's given to the club we love... .and most important wish him well in the future and support his decision to further his career.....good lad Adam, when he next appears at Oakwell, whoever he plays for,we should all give him a warm welcome

Is this the player who had, had his head turned that much he wasn't even speaking to the club?

I think they're selling Butland this summer

Don't get it tbh, Stoke? average club, finished 16th last season not likely to do anything big again any time soon, if he's going to go he should at least show a bit of ambition.

Both will be leaving Stoke this summer.

And we are deluding ourselves if we don’t think Stoke are a bigger club and better proposition.

Ten or twenty years ago, ok. A lot has changed since then. The infrastructure that their extended premier league stay has created, it is light years from what our club has.

They have double the crowd size, and will still have a much bigger budget even when the parachute payments dry up.

They are a higher profile club at the moment, which can only help his Wales prospects, and the law of averages states they are a likelier bet to get Davies promoted - though I don’t think they are likely to go up next season myself.

I sincerely hope we finish above Stoke next season but taking the red tinted glasses off I can only wish Davies well if he is on his way and accept that this move makes sense in pretty much all ways.

If he was universally loved here, that’s one thing. We might be a realistic option for him. But let’s face it, if he stayed next season he’d be one dropped cross, or goal kick out for a throw, away from half the ponty getting on his back. He knows that, so he might as well go and have a fresh start on twice or three times the cash.

No. It’s the player who the Club wouldn’t offer a contract extension to at the start of the season when he only had a year left.
Good luck Adam Davies, you deserve all the success in the world.

In the 80/90s but then they changed grounds and took off. To be fair they've spent most of their history in the top tier.

Good luck to the gut and thank you.
Right time to move on and prove he should have stayed with us by finishing above Stoke.
Time for Mr Walton to step up.

To be fair, if they had offered him a contract at the start of last season, I guarantee 100% the club would have been absolutely ripped to shreds on here and social media by the usual suspects.

We should go for Southend keeper Mark Oxley, local lad, very good keeper 28 though.

Absolutely the right time for him to move on, unlikely his stock will ever be higher. Would imagine the money being offered is far superior and if he is joining a bigger club like Stoke too then it's a simple choice.
Strange we didn't move him on in January as I thought the policy was to sell players before letting contracts run down.

Probably wanted to keep him for our promotion push, which to be fair he played a big part in

I think the club would have been absolutely slated if they'd have sold him in January... Especially if the wheels feel off, and we didn't get promoted, it would have just looked like cashing in.. instead the club did what was needed.
I think the club have done right, he was contracted to us, he might or might not have been offered a contract.. who knows!
He stayed, he built up his stock, he's now moving to a bigger club, and I wish him well and thank him for helping us get promoted!
He will ALWAYS be part of the promotion winning side! Thank you Adam.
