Totally agree. Don’t understand why some are getting hung up about contracts. Both the Club and Adam were right to wait for there own reasons. The most interesting thing is the amount of people jumping on the band wagon over Potts,Moncur etc but very few are willing to acknowledge the club could have cashed in but instead took a hit on this(bear in mind in Jan we were hovering around playoffs).
Wasn't getting hung up about just said I thought it was strange as it's been stated that is the policy. Maybe nobody was willing to pay for him in January and in doubt anyone would have wanted him last summer.
I’m not having a go at the Club. Judgements like this are made all the time and they are difficult. If the Club have said publicly that they want to tie players who have a future here down to longer term contracts - and then in carrying out that policy they don’t offer a new contract to a player with a year left on his agreement, they are effectively saying to the player that he doesn’t have a long term future here. If the Club then change their mind (because that player is doing so well) they can’t be surprised if the player responds by saying. ‘No thanks, i’ll wait until the end of the season and see what my options are.’ As I said not easy decisions for the Club to make. This was looks as if it has bitten them on the arse. The way in which Davies has conducted himself is exemplary. One last point. If the Club were to use social media as the driver for their decisions, they want their bumps feeling. The plethora of views on here is huge and conflicting and they are often a pile of ***** - though not mine - obviously.
There’s more Premiership possibilities with Stoke than currently with Tarn. Good luck to him, I wish him well
The guy backed himself , I assume the next contract he signs will be deemed what him and his agent feel he is worth. I expect it will be a bit more than we offered him.
